Onra – #7 of 7 from French beatmaker Onra is a double sided dose of French bruk hip hop soul with a nod to the East. The young Parisian is already 2 LP’s deep – his incredible 2007 Chinoiseries LP is paid homage to Far Eastern pop music with beats plucked from Vietnamese records picked up on holidays. Alongside Quetzal he has released two “Tribute” EPs which layered soul samples with a hip hop backbone. As if that’s not enough he has just released his second solo LP – “1.0.8” which again looks across the globe for its inspiration, made up of Indian samples. So start diggin for Onra’s All City Beatstrumental series with the lush “My Comet” and flip side “Shhhhhhh”.
