To prepare you for the full EP released on March 16th check out the excellent Can We Call It Love featuring the heavy soul of Istanbul’s Ahu (Dolly). Sound Species was formed by brothers Henry and Olly Keen, who where drawn to creating sounds and melodies at an early age, fast forward a few years and various journeys through dj culture, electronic music, Herbie Hancocks back catalogue and a slew of other talented musicians and the Sound Species band was born.
In 2003 Henry was introduced to the infamous CDR night, run by Tony Nwachukwu and Gavin Alexander. This gave the group a valuable platform to develop their sound and forged a relationship between the group and the CDR/Burnt Progress label.
You can catch the group playing live at the Tate Modern on March 6th alongside Dorian Concept. Full EP available to supporters…. the album follows on April 13th. Cop Dorian’s “When Planets Explode” HERE.

March 16th, 2009 at 5:55 pmI heard this on the Mr Trick and Wrongtom show, I have to say, I’m not a huge fan of electronica or electronic music (due to being severely narrow minded). However I seriously rate this track… I can’t really break it down and explain why… there is just something damn nice about it, and I keep coming back to it.
