One more reason for every musician to move to LA. Last week there was a private jam session in a secret location in downtown LA..with an amazing line-up. Mark de Clive-Lowe on juno 6, radias, mpc3000, Shafiq Hussain from Sa-Ra Creative Partners on his juno, Computer Jay on his rhodes and 3 moogs, Miguel Atwood-Ferguson on his violin, Zap Mama and LA fam on vocals, Todd Simon on trumpet..and more. The actual jam itself was pulled together by Dru from Artdontsleep and was documented on video, pics and audio. Below is a cut of the whole jam. To celebrate the release of Tony Allen’s new album “Secret Agent”, World Circuit Records are very excited to announce the Tony Allen remix project. World Circuit in collaboration with the good folks at SoundCloud and Propellerhead software are offering the opportunity to remix the title track from the album – “Secret Agent” – a majestic slice of hardcore roots Afrobeat featuring a driving groove, penetrating guitar, pulsating horn riffs and stirring vocals. Simply put, one of the greatest drummers of all time is giving you the chance to get creative with his legendary beats.
Some very cool prizes are awaiting the winner and the runner-up, who will be chosen by Tony himself. Full competition details can be found here, but basically this is how it goes:
- Download the stems. By downloading the stems, you agree to be bound by the Terms and Conditions of the competition
- Remix the track
- Upload your music using our Soundcloud dropbox or by email no latter than 7th July, 2009
- Winners will be notified and winning entries will be posted online

It’s about time we MOOV’D on up…don’t you think? We’ve had this logo/banner for way too long now and it’s time for a fresh new MOOVMNT logo! Over the past few months we’ve dedicated a lot more of our time, effort and money in providing you with the illest music out there. Now it only seems fair we now ask something in return.
For all graphic designers out there who are down with MOOVMNT…it’s time to show some love! We’re going to have a contest with 1 winner only. All we ask is a fresh logo (sent to us as a vector file) that embodies everything that MOOVMNT stands for. Now most of you already know what that MOOVMNT feeling is, but in case you need some extra info just download this .zip file HERE.
Since we’re not swimming in money (yet), we are offering the following prizes. First of all we’ll donate some free advertising space on the restyled MOOVMNT.com for the winning designer. Secondly the winner gets the new Dorian Concept album (on vinyl) plus and a big ass package consisting of audible goodies (vinyl, CD’s and digital music).
