This IAM1 Journey of Amsterdam, featuring Nalden as the storyteller, is a part of the Nike Europe project showcasing creative hotspots in 5 cities through the eyes of their native revolutionaries. This great stop-motion movie takes you to a few of Nalden’s favorite spots and people like Momkai, the MiNiBar, HOTEL and La Melodia. The wonderful soundtrack was made by Melodee and I.N.T. (La Melodia) and can be enjoyed as of now…

July 17th, 2009 at 2:04 pmhope they could keep the sneaks. I have mixed feelings about this kind of advertising.
good that nike puts a group like la melodia on the map, but do we really want a company with such a long history of child labour and other stuff to play this kind a role in our underground music scene…? -

selling their soul? nike taking advantage of the underground?i mean let’s be realistic here. everybody is in this business trying to make money. if you’re not trying to make money in the music business then you give your shit away for free and perform for free.
nike’s been doing a lot of good stuff for contemporary culture, and yeah most of it is advertising in a way but so what? they’re a business and they need to sell products but choose a creative way to market themselves. hiring people on projects who actually know what they’re talking about. instead of some slick PR guy in a office across the world deciding who to follow in Amsterdam they ask people within the scene itself. I don’t see how you can have a problem with that.
as far as the child labor (not sure what the other stuff may be) they were the first company to act on it when this was brought to the attention of the masses. meanwhile just about everything you use in a day is made the same exact way, from computer parts to furniture to whatever
bottom line is
its not that seriousnalden covers the history of the AM1 in Amsterdam and follows some of the most interest creatives in this town and asks La Melodia to do a theme song to this journey. That’s all.
respect to both
