Last year Brittany Bosco released “The Spectrum” EP and has continued to ride this pulse, making it’s vibrations and sound audible to those in the mainstream industry. She recently released her debut video, “Blues for Blue/Black & White”, and did a lot of performances on both coasts. In September it’s time she crosses the pond and blesses Europe with her onstage presence and golden voice. She will do shows in London, Paris and I heard Rotterdam was on the agenda too…so stay tuned for more info!
Now, with the release of her next compilation, “The Spectrum Re-Release”, followed by BLACK in the fall of 2009 Bosco and The Big Up! creative collective continue to develop the Bosco brand. You might remember we posted “Glitch” a while ago that was produced by Knxwledge. Check out miss Bosco for yourself by visiting her Bandcamp and get yourself some audible niceness while you’re at it.

From the man who brought us the wonderful “EP2″, here is the brand new “Born In 82″ EP. I just can’t get enough from Guynamite and this release is a well balanced mixture of Broken Beat and Future Boogie. I love it how modern day artists manage to do something new with that old disco, funk, boogie sounds. Thanks to Nujazz Spirit for the heads up and lets hope for more Future Boogie! Go get this release at Juno Records!

New music by Gu Zheng performer Bei Bei and Ubiquity producer Shawn Lee marries a unique blend of ancient tradition with studio trickery and spiritual jazz. This uplifting, genre-bending, soundclash recalls the afrocentric harping of Dorothy Ashby, the hypnotic style of Alice Coltrane, and the organic electronics of Four Tet and Quantic.
For this introductory, limited edition 10″ EP, ubiquity includes the original and instrumental versions of “Make Me Stronger”, with a vocal by Georgia Anne Muldrow who has recently produced and sang on records by Mos Def and Erykah Badu (she is also working on a solo record for Ubiquity.) Alongside these, is a storming version of the Billy Paul psychedelic soul opus “East”. And a remix by UK producer Floating Points (whose “Love Me Like This”, “Vacuum Boogie”, and “Radiality” releases have been turning heads all year long) takes the track deep into FP vs. Wu-Tang territory. My man Full Crate just keeps making noise! When Crate, SirOJ, FS Green, Hayzee & Patrick Ebu-Mordi were in Birmingham UK for the Louis Den Beat Cypher #6, they got bored and so OJ and Crate just started making a beat together. This “Formule One” joint (yes FREE DOWNLOAD) was the result. On the picture you see the actual process and credits go to Partick Ebu-Mordi for the photo and to Johanna from Apple Juice Break for her contribution to the cover…

Haven’t really done a Slept on Sundays in a while, but my man Mr. Speak hit me up with the new Karizma album I definitely slept on. With “A Mind of Its Own V2.0 – The Upgrade” Karizma has taken his unique sound to the next level and continues to defy categorization by moving between club bangers, down-tempo burners, atmospheric soundtracks and smoothed out soul with featuring vocalists like Monique Bingham, Fruity and Djinji Brown. Great album so head on over to iTunes to pick this one up!
