To end the year properly, we came up with the idea to sum up 2009 and let ya’ll know what we thought was epic and who ya’ll slept on. We would like to thank you all for staying loyal to the movement called Moovmnt and 2010 has a lot of newness in store for you. Our brand new website will launch early Januari, the Moovmnt Sampler releases will be dropping like hotcakes and Moovmnt TV is coming up.
Our Belgian homeboy Azer did a 2009 mix and it goes hard as you might guess. It’s a selection of some of his favorite tracks released in 2009. It was broadcasted on December 30, 2009 in the Laid Back Show on FM Brussel. Happy new year and see you on the flipside.

Thank god we can end this year on a soulful note with Jesse Boykins‘ new “Itis” video. If we were to complain about something it would be the lack of high quality Soul! We honestly pray to god, that 2010 will be a year full of Soulful music…pray with us. This video was directed by Atif Ateeq and is off “The Beauty Created” album (which you all should have bought by now).
The invincible Skillz from V.A. done wrapped the O-Nine up for us and naturally there’s some funny ass rhymes, but oh so true. Barack Obama becoming the first black president, Rihanna v.s. Chris Brown, Michael Jackson‘s death, Jazzy Jeff getting kicked out of Kansas because he played Hip Hop, Twitter becoming huge and Tiger Woods putting 18 hoes. I remember when Skillz was still Mad Skillz and him blowing everybody’s mind when he dropped dem sick as freestyles on Freestyle Frenzy with Stretch Armstrong & Bobbito. Memories of the past and memories of the past year…it’s all love.

Jose James recently released “Love Conversation” which was produced by Taylor McFerrin and boy is this a beauty. The lovely vocals of Jordana de Lovely make it twice as sweat so sit back and enjoy. Now the “Blackmagic” remixes have been out for a bit, but the original Flying Lotus version is the baddest. Take a look at the tracklist after the jump to see what 2010 has in store…

After Bullion’s ‘Young Heartache’ EP ushered in the dreamy days of summer, the young producer returns with a mind-bending brace of wistful songs for winter: ‘Say Goodbye To What’ is hook-laden psychedelic funk, a pop song laced with intricacies and a beautifully skewed production approach. It may well be the strangest singalong track of the year. Flipside ‘Crazy Over You’ is a melancholic headnodder, drifting through the speakers with a lovelorn grace while pummelling you with the bottom end.
The life of the romantic is not always an easy one. You can listen to both tracks by visiting Bullion’s Bandcamp and you can also make a digital purchase while you’re at it. Big ups One Handed Music..

Yes this is a late pass, but just in case you missed it:
Merry Christmas and happy holidays to everyone
as we’re approaching this new year, I felt it was time to let go of some things that have been gathering dust. Some old things, and some new things, I tried to pick out tracks that I know yall haven’t heard yet so there should be surprises around every turn.
can’t believe i’ve been making tracks for over 10 years now..That said, there’s so much to learn still.
I hope you all enjoy this mix. Thanks to the Gaslamp Killer for doing an incredible job on this.
Can’t wait for you all to hear my album ‘Cosmogramma’ coming out April 20th 2010 on Warp Records.
