Wow! Where has this guy Brandon Coleman been all my life? Here’s this incredible musician from Culver City California who released his “Self-Taught” album last month. Between that release and the music on his Myspace I declare the man a musical genius! Hoping to hear more of this guy in the future, because this is what music is all about. Don’t hesitate and grab yourself some Brandon Coleman music via ..

Bought my copy of Fatima‘s “Follow Me”EP last week and again Eglo Records is bringing out something I just have to spend my money on. This time it’s a Floating Points release coming out next week including two brand new tracks. The b-side is called “Faruxz” which is a bit more mellowed out and kinda spacey at the same time. More uptempo and suitable for the dance floor is Sam’s “Marilyn”. This one is going to knock your socks off…just check this snippet!

So BeatMakerBeat aka Space Kid is killin’ em again on the beats. After his crazy “MacroKosmos” album, he’s back with some random new joint “WrongSpot” (for Soundcloud) which is bangin’ by the way. Keep a close watch on this guy..

In late 2006/early 2007, Yukimi Nagano was still a fairly unknown vocalist from Sweden. Little Dragon didn’t exist yet, at least not to the public, and Yukimi was probably best known for her vocals on several Koop projects. And then there was this track…
GE-OLOGY is probably best known for his production work for the likes of Mos Def, Vinia Mojica and Talib Kweli. Also a skilled visual artist he was also responsible for some of the iconic album artwork put out by Rawkus in the late 90′s, and up to today is also one of NY’s finest DJ’s.
In 2006 I first came across “Longin”, then said to be the first track to surface from GE-OLOGY’s album to be. That album never saw the day of light (although he did put out a GREAT mixtape featuring his productions on Female Fun in 2005), and the track ended up being released on Suite903′s #15 compilation only. Enjoy!

Suicidal Tendencies bassist Stephen “Thundercat’ Bruner is set to release his debut album The Golden Age of Apocalypse this fall on Brainfeeder. You should know Thundercat from his extraordinary basswork for Flying Lotus, Shafiq Husayn, Erykah Badu, and many others. Below you can find a free download for the George Duke cover “For Love I Come”.

Pardon my French, but this is that kinda sh*t I wanna hear more of. Nice fucking remix from Buscrates 16-bit Ensemble. Never heard of Meemee Nelzy, but this French vocalist is coming correct on “Comme Un Lotus”. It sounds like some very welcome Nu Soul music in an era that seems to become more and more devoid of Soul. Another free download, so get ya click on HERE.

So Co$$‘ new album is about to drop next month. First video is “Spaceman” and if my hunch is right “Before I Awoke” might just be that type of hype that you’ve been waiting for. A few cameo’s on there from Blu, Aloe Blacc and Shawn Jackson. Production wise he called in the help of Exile, Fonetik Simbol, J83, Knxwledge, Cook Classics, Erik L and Chief. Really looking forward to this one dropping June 7th on Tres Records!
