Eventhough we never met J-1 in person, I did have a few words with him back and forth online. He seemed like a real cool cat and his passing was kind of a shock to us. Not that shocking is to see how much he was loved. The song “Castles” was was written by Jimetta Rose for Jovan Coleman aka J-1 THE DEER. The music was produced by House Shoes, taken originally from the Starship 27 Vol. 2 “Take Off” compilation on INsect Records. All the proceeds go J-1′s family so if you haven’t copped it yet, go get the compilation now on
