Tenka Who?:

Kinda confusing, but I had heard this “Summer Nights” song somewhere before. Wasn’t quite sure where, but the homie Joe Kay told me he played it this summer when this dude Shen-7 sent it to him (it was a demo version at the time). A few weeks ago I came across it again this time uploaded by producer Tenka. I have no clue if Tenka produced it and then Shen-7 sang over it or if Shen is an alias, but it sounds hella fresh if you ask me. About 5 months late, but right on time if you ask me and available as an exclusive high bitrate download thanks to the Tenka…enjoy!

Eric & Guilty On A Detroit Mission:

Been a while since we heard of London’s Eric Lau, but after his “Quadrivium” project he’s now back with a brand new single, “The Mission”, featuring Detroit’s finest Guilty Simpson. If it hadn’t been for “Just Vybe” featuring the lovely miss Fatima, I probably would’ve never heard of UK Funky man DVA. Recently he announced his debut album, “Pretty Ugly”,  is coming out in 2012 on Hyperdub Records, but before the end of the year he’ll be releasing a 12″ first. It will contain “Madness” featuring Vikter Duplaix (plus an instrumental version) and “Polyphonic Dreams” on the flipside. Also peep the video or pre-order at Rush Hour.

Moar Funk!:

After a lot of positive responses to the 1st “The Future of Funk” mix, me and Mr. Speak decided we wanted to do another one. It wasn’t very easy to keep the quality high, but we did our best on the sequal. I’m very pleased to present to you: “The Future of Funk” Pt. 2. Now Modern Funk music is still pretty niche so we’d like to contribute to the cause in our own way, since we’re not musicians ourselves. Big shout out to artists for hitting us up with music and special thanks to Tokyo Dawn Records who are releasing their “The Boogie” Vol. 2 compilation soon! Welcome To The Div:

L.A.’s Pac Div has just released their first official full album today entitled “The Div” on RBC Records. For those that have been waiting hella long for “She” to finally come out…it’s here. Some dope features from TiRon, Asher Roth and Casey Veggies. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Pacific Division is at it’s best when dropping those laid back songs reminiscent of The Pharcyde. Go ahead and peep to show sum love.

OJ + Gold = Time Leak:

Now most of you where already aware of the French duo called Union. Eealier this year they came correct with “Wings” featuring Elzhi and they now return with a brand new single and video entitled “Time Leak”. For this one OJ and Gold teams up with Talib Kweli and Sly Johnson to create some nice jazz-minded, electronic hip hop music. Their upcoming album, “Analogtronics” will feature the likes of MF Doom, Guilty Simpson and Elzhi. Out on Fat Beats early next year, but in the meanwhile grab the single over at or look for the triangle shaped 7″ over at Fatbeats. Oh and can’t forget to shout out my man fLako for delivering another crackin’ remix!

I remember Nev coming with these Teebs beats years ago and now this release on Brainfeeder. A lot has changed in the years and “Collections” 01 is a journey. The follow-up to “Ardour” offers some brand new world perspectives into the world of Teebs. Some nice features on this album from harpist Rebekah Raff and label buddy Austin Peralta. World Peace & Astro Funk:

You might remember we posted about these two jolly young beat wizards, Jazzo & Melodiesinfonie, earlier this Spring. They came hard with their “Untreeleted” joint, which you can still grab for free, and are coming back with a follow-up album called “Astro Funk & Weltfrieden” slated to drop November 18th via Feelin’ Music. I’m really loving the playful sound these cats are bringing and eventhough they’re still hella young (they started producing together in 2010), I hear a lot of potential here. Ya’ll should really keep an ear out for this Swiss duo and enjoy this Moovmnt Exclusive preview entitled “∆ Sign of Peace”..
