Soulection and Stussy teamed up for a collaboration. They put together an exclusive ‘Soulection Tribe’ t-shirt as well as a compilation featuring what they feel is ‘The Sound of Tomorrow’ from their worldwide musical network.

The launch is today at at the Stussy La Brea location, so make sure you line-up for one of those t-shirts.  They will be limited and only sold on Friday at the La Brea store…first come, first served. Following the in-store, the official after party will take place at The Echoplex later tonight.

The compilation contains new heaters from Evil Needle, Sango, IAMNOBODI, Ta-Ku, Mr. Carmack, Jay Prince, Sivey, Esta, Jarreau Vandal, Sam Gellaitry and many more dope artists. Make sure you grab this one and pay whatever amount you seem fit.

Promnite is one of those new producers out of L.A. that we’re really feeling right now. Especially on this previously unreleased track he did together with Mr. Carmack, Mike Gao, Mike Parvizi & Paper Diamond.

At first listen some of you might ask yourself if this isn’t too rough, while others start bouncing no questions asked. Just wait for it though! At 01.23 those synths come swervin’ it and damn does it sound like magic when everything comes together. Nicely done and I’m starting to grow fond of these Cali collaborations by the way. Shout out to Promnite and Mike ‘Blonde Foreskin’ Gao. Keep ’em coming fellas.

Stream this previously unreleased track below and follow Promnite on Soundcloud.

We would like to introduce a British producer called PYRMDPLAZA. Since it’s the first day of September and we’re starting it fresh and all.

He’s signed with the French label LaRuche Records and very recently released the track “Foundry” via Soundcloud.  Bangin’ ass beat with a heavy dose of Funk to make it swing just the right way. Top it off with some heavy synths and you got the formula down to a science. Great song right here!

The label has been signing some interesting artists lately, so we’ve been keeping an eye on them from. You might want to check out PYRMDPLAZA’s free “Grateful” EP and the track “Games”, which was a contribution to LaRuche’s ‘Free Download Tracks’ series.

We at Moovmnt have been a big fan of Mono/Poly from day one. His “Paramatma” album on Tasteful Licks was a breath of fresh air really and when he dropped “Needs Deodorant” that was on the “Manifestations” EP the year after…wow!

Since then it seems to have been an endless wait really. Many year later Mono/Poly finally releases his debut full-lenght album, entitled “Golden Skies“, on Brainfeeder. Now many seem to be blown away by this beat-driven cosmic soundscape he likes to describe as ‘electronic-classical-alchemy music’. Personally I’m not that keen on it. It wasn’t until the very last track that a smile appeared on my face. I’d almost given up hope and wanted to push the delete button. If it wasn’t for Thundercat joining him on the last track “Gamma”…thank god. For those interested you can get your LP at the Ninja Tune shop or travel the road often traveled and get it on iTunes.

Dagmxy is an international trio of producers consisting of DOC Mastermind from Paris, Axion117 from Toshigi (Japan) and Go yama from San Diego.

They all met in 2012 on the Internet, when they were workin on the same label at that time. Last year Dagmxy decided to work on an album together, so they combined forces and created a concept album. The project got side-tracked when one of the producers had complications with his laptop, but after all this time it’s finished. The title of the album is “Asa” and it will be released on Expansions Collective September 3rd. Get your pre-orders here now.

Enjoy an exclusive premiere of the track “Marina” and find out where the title of this project is derived from.

Asa (朝)
noun
1. The first part or period of the day, extending from dawn, or from midnight, to noon.
2. The beginning of day; dawn: sunrise: east to west
3. The first or early period of anything; beginning: the morning of life.

Los Angeles-based producer Seven Davis Jr slaps a slab of filthy Funk right in your face with his latest track “Charms” of the 4th volume in the Hit+Run “Road Kill” series. Dope uptempo instrumental that reminds me a little of some old AFTA-1 stuff.

The compilation album contains 27 exclusive and unreleased song from producers from all over the world. They represent Brainfeeder, Leaving Records, Ninja Tune, Alpha Pup and many more.

“Road Kill” vol. 4 will be released on September 1st and is already available for pre-order. Oh and the digital version on the album contains a non-cd bonus track from MNDSGN.

Galimatias from Denmark has been one of those producers, who I’ve actually stalked to see what’s up with his upcoming project.

He told me quite recently that he is working on finishing a new EP with a female vocalist. And most likely “Ocean Floor Kisses” is the first track of this soon to be released EP. Wonderland chords on some Final Fantasy ish and Alina Baraz‘s vocals chopped to bits. Marvelous groove and just imagine how incredible the rest of this EP is going to sound.

More info soon, but for now just follow Galimatias on Soundcloud and share with your friends.

Youtellme is a fresh label from London, who are about discovering new music from the far corners of the internet. Nehzuil is one of those discoveries!

They are about to present a nine track compilation album of electronic ingenuity entitled “Youtellme” Vol. 1. Included artists have already been supported by the likes of BBC Radio 1, XLR8R, Thump, Earmilk, Diplo and of course Moovmnt.

When we heard Nehzuil ‘s track “CyberCrush“, we knew this was something we wanted to premiere. So this entire weekend you can stream and savor Nehzuil’s new invention exclusively on our site. To purchase please visit iTunes or if you’re into streaming services try Spotify.

Photay aka Evan Shornstein is a producer hailing from Woodstock, NY.  His artist name is a nickname he picked up while studying music in West Africa. The local African kids would point at him and his American friends and started yelling “PHOTAY, PHOTAY, PHOTAY!”. At first he had no clue what the word meant, but he later found out that it means white person in the native dialect of Guinea.

During his six month stay in Guinea, Evan not only picked up his artist name. He also learned how to play Djembe (hand drum) and Balafon (marimba-esq instrument). Now there’s two singles online, “Reconstruct” featuring Seafloor and “No Sass” (available for free download). These will give you a good impression of the music Evan makes, but make sure you visit his Soundcloud page for more music. His upcoming self-titled album will be out August 26th on Astro Nautico.

Portland record label Dropping Gems releases the latest installment of their compilation series “Gem Drops Four“.

Their take on electronic music is an interesting one. For they are known to highlight stirring off grid music, rather then go for what is a safe choice. For Gem Drops Four they assembled twenty one tracks from artists like Devonwho, Free The Robots, Pixelord, but also from label family Gouda Hoop and Shawn Don. Devonwho‘s track “Sunder” is an instant win and obvious pick for us.

The official release is today and the compilation is available digitally and on limited edition cassette tape.
