Samuel T. Shepherd who is most commonly known as Floating Points, has returned once more.

This December double sider EP contains two top notch tracks. The a-side, “Nuits Sonores“, has been played by the creme of the crop DJ’s from over the world. Changes are you might have already bounced to this at a festival. The flip side entitled, “Nectarines“, features the enchanting vocals of miss Rahel and is my definite favorite! It sounds like a slice of heaven.

For those with a fat wallet, ya’ll might want to own this Floating Points Isonoe mixer. Crafted in collaboration with FP himself.

Now homeslice Mike Gao (aka Charles McForeskin) has been tearing shit up in the studio with Esta and this right here is the result of their labour of love.

Most likely scenario is that the two were having some “Katsu Curry” and were working on a beat together while messin’ around with the polyplayground. Honestly I thought this was gonna be some weird ass track, but sh*t was I wrong. Full on Funk for that ass and what a wonderful transition from slow and sexy into downright nasty booty teasing House rhythms. This had me wiggling in my seat the full thirty seconds! Thank you Mike Gao..

09.11.14

The Austrian-based label Pusic Records released two EP’s last year and a double EP. Right before Christmas they return with a four track release by various artists.

Pusic Records 005 starts off with a rugged yet soulful House track from Box aus Holz family member IMYRMIND. The track “Keep On Slingin” is ample proof that this dope producer does not only produce fire with Glenn Astro, but is a beast on the solo tip too. Other producers on this EP include Saine from Helsinki, the Dutch duo Fouk (Daniel Leseman & Junktion) and a producer from Italy called Giovanni Damico who did an amazing job on “Break“.

Make sure to ask Santa for the 12” vinyl. It’ll be out December 14th which is just in time for him to order a few copies.

28.10.14

JTRP consists of two guys, Jorge Takei & Phillip ‘Robophil’ Morris, from Cologne Germany who have been making music as a duo for a while now.

They started out making a few bass heavy releases on T. William’s Deep Teknologi imprint. Followed by several sidekicks in Belgium, UK and finally landing closer to home on Beef from Prague. JTRP’s debut 4-track EP entitled ‘You And Me‘ on Beef is mix between techno and acid house. But when you have Glenn Astro on the remix…man it just adds a so much additional flavor! Anything this producer from Tartelet/Box aus Holz touches turns to liquid crack.

Shout out to Michal from Beef for letting us premiere Glenn Astro’s remix of “You And Me”. You need to get the 12-inch vinyl that will be available November 10th.

30.09.14

After their Moovmnt Guest Mix 11, the German production/DJ duo, Glenn Astro & IMYRMIND is back in the spotlights. Their “Box aus Holz 09” EP released earlier this month on (not hard to guess) Max Graef‘s label Box au Holz.

When you translate some of the outlandish German titles translated into English you get “Dancing In Theo’s Beat-Bar” and “Freedom For The Grandmother”. Don’t let these kooky names fool you, for there is nothing but pure dopeness on Glenn Astro & IMYRMIND’s release.

Unfortunately the EP is already sold out in the Oye Records online shop, but you might be able to find a copy at your local record store. Perhaps Clone in Rotterdam will get a few.

25.09.14

You might remember French producer Fulgeance, who’s been getting into producing House music lately. He does so under the name Claude together with Darius Broobecker.

Fusing that filthy Disco Funk sound with some serious Chicago House rhythms is what these Claude does best. On this project Darius is the digger,  who comes up with samples. We are delighted to exclusively premiere the track “Damn Thang“. Get ready for some dance floor winners served in a typical French way.

Their EP called “Solid” is to be released via Musique Large October 6th and contains seven solid tracks. Limited vinyl copies (100 only) and pre-orders are available, so get it in!

19.08.14

Goodness gracious me, that new remix Max Graef just did for Mr Scruff is just bananas, with nuts, whipped cream and a bunch of cherries on top.

After having recruited AD Bourke, Mr Scruff now calls in the help of German wunderkind Max Graef to remix “We Are Coming” of his “Friendly Bacteria” album. Graef was born and raised in Berlin and where he’s been tearing shit up lately. He has released music on labels such as Tartelet Records and his own label Box Aus Holz. On this remix he delivers such an amazing groove with filthy, nasty bass and synths. An instant winner! And to fatten the pot we find a re-tweak of “Feel Free” on the b-side of this 12-inch releasing next month via Ninja Tune.

Both vinyl and digital files are ready for pre-orders and will go out early September. We urge all you DJ’s to pick this up and play at full blast whenever and wherever you can.

18.08.14

Sam aka Floating Points drops a surprise 12″ entitled “Sparkling Controversy” on Eglo Records, which is a dub version of an older track “ARP 3” of his Shadows EP. It’s been floating around (pun intended) for a while and has mostly been played by DJ’s. Great news for all you die-hard fans huh.

We were quite surprised that the producer from London decided to release this single-sided release quite shortly after having released “King Bromeliad” / “Montparnasse” last month. Never the less this gives us the perfect excuse to do a Floating Points combo write up on both the releases!

The single is available now on vinyl or digitally and can be purchased on the Eglo Records Bandcamp page.

27.07.14

Thatmanmonkz from Sheffield runs the Shadeleaf Music label and also produces music. For his upcoming “To Repel Ghosts” 12-inch coming out next month on Kolour LTD, Scott called in the help of Pete Simpson and one of our favorite producers at the moment. Yes Glenn Astro‘s Reminisce of the track “Remember” is on that soulful House tip and sounds like an amazing summer filled with good music. Actually that cut “Stars” on the flipside with J. Gordon sounds pretty dope too.

We deemed it necessary to stream a little sneak preview for you to enjoy. In our opinion Thatmanmonkz’ release is a must cop and will be available on Juno soon.

24.07.14

With music as his liberator Wayne Snow can now look back at his tough past and use it to draw strength from. The Nigerian born vocalist and songwriter resides in Berlin at the moment where he recently created his debut “Red Runner” EP. This is a collaborative project between Tartelet and Comet Records.

The EP contains two original tracks plus two insane remixes. The title track is an uptempo funky jam that will make you boogie on the dancefloor, while “Under The Blue Moon” takes a more hip hop approach. At first you might some doubts about Wayne’s quirky vocals, but it doesn’t take more than a few listens to get past those. That remix by Glenn Astro & IMYRMIND…seriously?! Bomb diggity synth synthesis right thur. And man that Session Victim remix is on point too.

So now you have four reasons to pick up the 12-inch vinyl at your local record shop or at Oye Records.
