The sensational group known as Kirkis is headed by bassist slash producer slash writer slash painter Matthew Kirkis. Good news…the band out of Melbourne uploaded some brand new material to their Soundcloud page entitled “Hypno“.

Such astounding and hypnotizing melodies lurk hidden inside these three minutes of wonderful. This perplex array of funkiness takes us on a psychedelic ride into a far galaxy, yet to be discovered by mankind.

I remember Kirkis was supposed to release his “Liverbleach” album on Eglo Records last year, but I think the release has been postponed. Still looking forward to hearing new material and who knows we might even be able to catch a performance next year.

In case you love that new classic Soul sound from back in the days, like me. You are most likely going to love Idesia.

This USC Thornton School of Music educated band from Los Angeles is the next generation in Soul music. Their inspiring mix of contemporary Soul and Jazz music will satisfy the music needs of Jill Scott fans, but also wide audience of music lovers worldwide.

Miss Sophie Dimitroff’s mesmerizing voice makes their “Golden Dreams” EP a winner in my book. Best tune for me personally is “April Love“…what’s yours? Available on iTunes in case you were wondering.

Candid Music Group (founded by Brooklyn natives JNTHNSTEIN & Ivan Jackson) released their very first compilation ever a week and a half ago.

The duo operates out of a studio in Willamsburg, Brooklyn where they gathered quite some interesting artists like Penthouse Penthouse, BrassTracks, Mr. Carmack, S’natra, Alexander Lewis and of course Candid Music Group founders JNTHNSTEIN and Ivan Jackson themselves. The eleven track “Fam Volume One” release is a compilation of tracks from their extremely talented extended musical family. And hopefully the first of many more to come.

It is available for free download and we suggest you show it the love and appreciation it deserves!

Did you know Singapore’s best kept secret goes by the name of TAJ? Tim De Cotta (bass/vocals), Audrey Tengkey (piano, keys and synth) and Teo Jia Rong (drums) form the exciting contemporary Jazz trio TAJ.

Their forthcoming “The Astral Journey” EP will be released with local independent record label, Darker Than Wax. It’s a cross pollination of beats, psychedelia, post-rock, breaks and everything it takes to please the discerning ears of contemporary jazz fans. We gratefully premiere the title track, which is by far the most organic piece of music on the EP. If you like Robert Glasper, you need to feast your ears on this fasho!

The EP will hit the streets January 30th and mark my words, it will them hit hard. No wonder with remixes included from Jaël and Cosa Nostra.

Believe it or not our first post of 2015 is about something I missed. Eversince we discovered Brandon Williams, we have been waiting for his breathtaking album, entitled “XII“, to drop. Can’t remember how often I asked him about it, but today I came to discover it was released mid November.

In hindsight Brandon Williams album would have been in our top 5 list of favorite albums of 2014. Brandon has had the privilege to produce many successful songs for other artists and thought it was time for him to debut his work as a producer and musician. The Detroit musician has built meaningful relationships with extablised artists and on asked a lot of them to lend a helping hand on XII.

Special guests on this album include Don Blackman (RIP), Bernard Wright, Frank McComb, Robert Glasper, Karriem Riggins, Amp Fiddler, Geno Young, Derrick Hodge, Jean Baylor (of Zhane), Pharoahe Monch, Choklate, Casey Benjamin, Moonchild, Deborah Bond, Jesse Boykins III and more.

The way Brandon Williams flawlessly blends that Detroit Soul sound with modern day Jazz is simply wonderful and refreshing. Don’t even think twice and buy this album…it’s well worth your money, trust me!

So with Swarvy‘s debut “Scotch” album finally out, we now bring you wonderful news of Devonwho‘s amazing flip of “Carried Away”.

Last week we premiered “Kittylitter”, but this trust me when I say this album packs a lot of extra delicious grooves. Now it’s only right we do another post on this wonderful Swarvy release, for the simple fact that the Devonwho flip of “Carried Away” is astounding. Almost equally great is Mndsgn’s remix of the track “Scotchious”. Like I said before, best to purchase the limited edition vinyl if you’re into good music. If you are all you need to do is visit the Feelin’ Music shop.

Upon hearing the first few seconds of Swarvy‘s tremendous track “Carried Away” (freebie alert) this week, we knew we had to get a hold of his forthcoming album as soon as possible.

We have no trouble at all calling this guy Philadelphia’s best kept secret. For this musician slash genius delivers nothing but craziness on his “Scotch” album. For Swarvy’s official debut venture, he links up with bassist Jerry Thompson III and band mate Ryan McKenney. Everything on here is original, sample-free music with heavy 70’s Jazz and Funk influences. FYI..it will be released tomorrow on Chief’s Feelin’ Music imprint.

We’re super excited to exclusive premiere the first track of the album entitled “Kittylitter”. Pre-order now and don’t sleep on the limited (300 copies) vinyl version, which comes with a download card. As if this wasn’t enough, the album contains mind-blowing remixes by MNDSGN (Stones Throw) and Devonwho (All City).

If you didn’t know any better, one would almost think it’s B. Bravo week here. What a bunch of flavorful tracks have been flowing our way. We love it!

His brand new freebie “Soprano has nothing to do with mobsters or gangsters though. This one is for his pops who got Adam into music way back when. I’m proud to say I met pops (and the rest of the fam) back in 2010 and what a nice guy he is. He wanted to show off some martial arts skills and I’m sure he would’ve thrown me to the floor if I would’ve let him.

Not many of you know that B. Bravo also plays a little saxophone, but in combination with the DX7 and those 808’s it sounds so jazzy and laid back. Get ya sexy on to this one fellas and snatch a free download right here.

Many times I get the urge to hop on a plane to the old US of A. Simply because there is so much talent to be found there and sir JNTHN STEIN is one of those cats.

You may remember our favorite track, “Last Stop“, from L.A.’s Penthouse Penthouse featuring JNTHN STEIN. For his solo track “Laced Up” the Brooklyn-based producer teams up with fellow Brooklynite Brasstracks. Together they create some low down dirty and Jazzy instrumental, that blows (not only horns) but minds. We are looking forward to many more incredible collaborations like this in the future.

For now head over to JNTHN Stein’s Bandcamp page and peep some of his previous work.
