Has it really almost been 1 1/2 years since we brought you the last Future of Funk mix? So sorry we left you funkless for such a long period of time, but with a new website comes new inspiration. Mr. Speak and I picked up were we left off in 2011 and are happy to present to you: The Future of Funk 3. In case you missed out on previous previous The Future of Funk mixes, get hip and educate yourselves.
It is said that the Germans and the Dutch don’t get along very well. In the case of long time music friend, Front2blaq, this is very untrue. In fact we have love for a lot of German cats (don’t get me wrong here). Anyhow, Marcus kicks off our Guest Mix series with the loneliest number known to man. He pleasantly surprised us with a very personal selection that I in fact am very fond of. Oh and a special shout out to Duktus for providing the nice artwork! Snatch up a free download if you like.
Next week (Decmber 13th) Jesse Boykins III will be performing at the North Sea Jazz Club in Amsterdam. Especially for this occasion we cooked up a little JB3 ‘Moovmnt Mini Mix’ for ya’ll to kick back to. We carefully selected ten of our favorite songs and managed to squeeze them into a 25 minute treat. Some obvious winners on here as well as the necessary slept on nuggets.

Just came across an amazing mix from French DJ/producer Breakbot entitled “The Lazy Sunday Selecta” mix. You can instantly hear somebody put some time and effort in the selection as well as in the blending. This mix contains a lot of Disco, Boogie/Funk and ends with a few sexy slow jams. Shout out to Sounds of The 70’s for sharing this on their Soundcloud page.
Our homie DJ Notoya from Japan really put some time and effort in his latest “Nu Funk Classixx” Vol. 1 mix. This carefully selected collection of Funk bangers will keep you satisfied for days. Heard some Moovmnt classixx on here as well as some jams we slept on or had almost forgotten about.
We’re cutting it close again, but right on time as usual. This month’s “Glimmering Fractions” mix is full of soulful goodness for your ear. And since I was chilling on the beach in Barcelona, there wasn’t a lot of time left. So I decided to cut this one a little short, but don’t worry…it’s still full of little pearls.
