Bad boy IAMNOBODI is back with another banger for ya’ll! This time the track is called “Untitled“, but don’t let that fool you. Trust me this motherf*cker swings like Tiger Woods holdin’ a long iron.

Unfortunately Alex was unable to go on a US tour due to visa issues. A lot of you might be bummed, but I’m pretty sure he will be flying to California as soon as possible. In the meantime mister IAMNOBODI thought he would give you some permanent ear damage by unleashing his signature pounding drums and bass. This instrumental is not to be f*cked with…seriously. Oh and it’s also available on Bandcamp for €2 in case you were wondering where to cop.

Scolla is a Cameroonian-American vocalist from Detroit who’d rather “Play It Cool” and be a happy fool instead of a troubled youth.

To commemorate the release of his new OG Cool (Red October Edition) Beanie, Scolla decided to release this song he did together with Skewby from Memphis. The production was done by Mindlabs and iRocksays with additional production by DrewsThatDude.

Nowadays we don’t post that much Hip Hop music anymore, but when the vibe is right and the message is positive it’s all butta. And thankfully this track is available for free download, so go snatch this one up.

Earlier this year the almighty SA-RA Creative Partners announced their return. Brotha Shafiq Husayn is (as you know) one third of this game-changing super group. Who wrote for and collaborated with the likes of Dilla, Common, Kanye and miss Erykah Badu.

The song “It’s Better For You” featuring Anderson Paak (formerly know as Breezy Lovejoy) is a preview of Shafiq Husayn’s forthcoming album “The L∞P“. A project that includes collaborations with Hiatus Kayote, Miguel Atwood Ferguson, Thundercat and Fatima. It is said to come out early 2015. Let’s wait and see what happens.

To hold you over Eglo Records is releasing a 12-inch containing three new tracks on October 20th. Will be available via Bandcamp, so act accordingly.

07.10.14

By now I guess most of you have heard about French producer DOC Mastermind. Both his “1985” album (released on Laruche) and his collaborative Dagmxy project where covered on the site earlier this year, but now it’s time for another brand new solo project from the DOC.

His sophomore album “Uyuni” is named after the world’s largest salt flat near the crest of the Andes (Bolivia). It is covered by a few meters of salt crust and due to it’s flat surface it looks like a gigantic mirror. The album has been split up into two parts. Part. 1 will be released via Laruche Records on October 20th. Followed by Part. 2 which will be released on Expansions Collective a week later on October 27th.

We are grateful to exclusively premiere the track “ZAAAAPP” and we hope you all support DOC Mastermind. Get ready for some ultra sonic slowed down 80’s Funk with filthy sliding moog basslines. I’m more than sure you’re going to dig this!

When a Hip Hop joint starts with an IAMNOBODI beat plus Jay Prince chanting ‘this is the latest for the haters’ with his London accent…it’s on.

Jay Prince is quickly proving himself and with his latest collaborative track “Feel It“, he takes another step in the right direction. This is the second song off Prince’s upcoming “BeFor Our Time” EP, which has not release date yet. Alex chops up some delicious horns to give this that jazzy vibe. Though I’m not a fan of all IAMNOBODI’s collaborations with rappers, but in Jay Prince’s case this seems to be a match made in heaven.

It will not have gone unnoticed. Flying Lotus his new album “You’re Dead!” can now be streamed on FlyLo’s website (sign up.

Perhaps his most DMT-influenced album as of yet. Kind of Alice in Wonderland-ish and personally I would’ve found the title ‘Descent Into Madness’ more fitting. Drop some acid and float down the rabit hole my friend! He describes the album himself as ‘a psychedelic death trip’.

Coming out tomorrow on Warp Records, this might be one of the most highly anticipated albums this year. Flying Lotus and Thundercat really get into it together and it almost sounds like a jazz jam session at times. We picked out the most down to earth track “Eyes Above” for you to enjoy.

Melbourne, Australia is home of many talented musicians. Our latest discovery is from down under and goes by the name of Queen Magic aka Nick Mulhall.

Nick is a multi-talented instrumentalist who also sings. He met photographer Charlie Brophy by chance recently through a mutual friend and they hit it off right away. Queen Magic’s silky debut song is entitled “I Don’t Want” and it embodies what Nick enjoys in life. Both musically and visually. The song is lush with smooth synths and is perfect to enjoy on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Nice and mellow, mellow…right on.

Head on over to Queen Magic’s Bandcamp and scoop up a free download!

03.10.14

Last week I came across this compilation on 5 Finger Discount Records. The name of the comp was “Bearded Beats Vol 2: Beardstrumentals” and I heard this dope track from Häzel & TFOX on there.

This morning another song from the duo popped up on Soundcloud, so I decided to stream both in the post. The brotha Häzel from Paris needs no introduction. He’s like the Large Professor of this time…slept on and underappreciated. TFOX is a singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist from Woodbridge, Virginia who we hadn’t heard of before. Honestly the two work well together, so perhaps in the future we’ll hear more from these fellas.

Until then kick back and enjoy “The Room” and “Things You Do” to the fullest!

30.09.14

After their Moovmnt Guest Mix 11, the German production/DJ duo, Glenn Astro & IMYRMIND is back in the spotlights. Their “Box aus Holz 09” EP released earlier this month on (not hard to guess) Max Graef‘s label Box au Holz.

When you translate some of the outlandish German titles translated into English you get “Dancing In Theo’s Beat-Bar” and “Freedom For The Grandmother”. Don’t let these kooky names fool you, for there is nothing but pure dopeness on Glenn Astro & IMYRMIND’s release.

Unfortunately the EP is already sold out in the Oye Records online shop, but you might be able to find a copy at your local record store. Perhaps Clone in Rotterdam will get a few.

29.09.14

Glenn Astro & IMYRMIND are two German producers that have been making thunder this year. Some of our favorite remixes are coming out of Germany nowadays and to be specific out of Max Graef’s Box Aus Holz camp.

The duo released their “Box Aus Holz 09” EP last week and let me tell you it’s really something else. High end soulful House music that’s well worth your money. We will be getting into this release more later this week though, so stay tuned!

For now kick back and enjoy this 50 minute guest mix Glenn Astro & IMYRMIND made for us and if you like what you hear, please show some love and hit the repost button. Thanks Duktus for delivering fine artwork again. Oh and in case you were wondering, this one is available as a free download.
