Heard this one a while ago, but after hearing this again today we decided Freekwency deserves a proper mention. Melbourne producer Benny Badge revives that lush eighties Funk with a little help of the homey Inkswel on “By My Side”. Watch out for miss Charli James on the vocals, cuz she comes mean on this one! It’s been a while since I heard some new good ol’ Hip Hop music that I wanted to bump my head to. Today I found out about this new Quartermaine joint, produced by Kev Brown, and my neck was thanking me to the fullest extent. Some good ass rhymin’ on “War Of The Roses” which is available as a free download on the Redef Soundcloud page. Jeedo debuts his brand new Electric Street Orchestra today on his Soundcloud page and let me tell you this shit is crackin’! This single will be out in five days on Dirt Tech Reck and contains two songs. The A-side contains “Scorpio” featuring Mad Mike Banks & UR-043, while the B-side is blessed with “M.F.A.” (Master Funk Association) which features Theo Parrish, Andres & Duminie. In this particular case I will be saying Tech-YES instead of Techno.

Okay it’s time to come clean. Lately I’ve been pretty bored with new music. There comes a time in ones life where a man has to reinvent himself on a musical level. One of those albums I was not feeling at the time was Jamire Williams‘ “Conflict Of A Man”. Thanks to a long conversation I had today, I started to realize that my relationship with music was on the verge of destruction. You might say we hadn’t had sex in months and that might have made me a little frustrated. All I needed really was to give “Visions” from Erimaj another listen. We should be thankful for innovators like these and appreciate them whenever we can. A lesson well taught! For those in the neighborhood…come and enjoy their show at the North Sea Jazz Club next month!
