HIT + RUN presents the second installment of their “Road Kill” compilation series. It features some of the heaviest producers from Los Angeles and  beyond such as Houseshoes, Computer Jay, Kutmah, Darkhouse fam, Om-Unit, Strangeloop & Dibia$e. The only track that really caught our attention though is Dirg Gerner‘s “Azul y Blanco”,  but the compilation is well worth a listen. Road Kill Vol.2 is available on bandcamp and on a limited-edition digipack CD as well.

Just came across an amazing mix from French DJ/producer Breakbot entitled “The Lazy Sunday Selecta” mix. You can instantly hear somebody put some time and effort in the selection as well as in the blending. This mix contains a lot of Disco, Boogie/Funk and ends with a few sexy slow jams. Shout out to Sounds of The 70’s for sharing this on their Soundcloud page.

This weekend I was chillin’ at DJ Blue‘s crib when he put on this Sweatson Klank record. Now I have to admit that I totally missed this “Elevate Me” EP on Project Mooncircle a few months back and was liking what I was hearing. Let me tell you that Take goes pretty damn hard on here. We’re not talkin about 5 simple beats, but we’re talking real music. Much respect for keeping it soulful, but also club worthy at times. In my opinion this sounds better than 95% of all the beats coming out nowadays. Well thought out concept, executed flawlessly!

After a few days of hard work, sunshine and hearing no postworthy music at all, I finally ran into something sweet from The Noire. The duo consists of brainchild Deshon Thrower and Saoul Bumbu who together bring some new Funk in the form of “Fire To The Flame”. Make sure you visit their Bandcamp page and grab this on a ‘name your price’ basis.

Trust me when we say we are picky about posting music from artists such as Flying Lotus nowadays. Simply because every damn blog in the universe wants to be on that ‘new shit’, regardless of how good the music really sounds. Well in this case we are proud to inform you about this crackin’ “Between Friends” instrumental from FlyLo. It popped up on his Soundcloud page and seems to be co-crafted by Thundercat. Lovin’ the simplicity of the rhodes loop in combination with that sexy soothing bass…on repeat as we speak!

One of our favorite new Hip Hop duo’s used to be Blu & Exile. Now over the years things changed. Blu got signed, dropped a lot of mediocre projects and all the while we where hoping for Batman & Robin to join forces once more. Well that time is now! Back with their new “Maybe One Day” EP on Dirty Science/Fat Beats, they managed to pull another beauty out of the hat. The title track featuring Black Spade is simply gorgeous and I hope more music like this will be made in the future. A full-length album should be on it’s way so let’s keep them fingers crossed. In the meanwhile you can buy the 10″ EP over at Fat Beats or go digital over at Maybe One Day - EP - Blu & Exile.

Must have missed this one when it came out, so now is the right time to bring this one up again. Hope you guys enjoy “That’s My Jam!” plus the downtempo remix on this late Sunday night.

Our homie DJ Notoya from Japan really put some time and effort in his latest “Nu Funk Classixx” Vol. 1 mix. This carefully selected collection of Funk bangers will keep you satisfied for days. Heard some Moovmnt classixx on here as well as some jams we slept on or had almost forgotten about.
