Young Jacob from Bristol aka Raleigh Ritchie teams up with Syd & Matt from The Internet on his latest “Black and Blue Point Two” EP.

It might sound a bit poppy for some of you, but we honestly enjoy the “Inside” remix a lot. Let us know if you guys are feeling it too. The EP is available as a free download by the way, so why don’t you give it a listen.

Can’t remember the last time we wrote about Jesse Boykins III really. His latest song “Live In Me” seems like a good reason to do so again. Superb production by Machinedrum and off Jesse’s upcoming “Love Apparatus” album that’s set to release April 22nd on Nomadic Music.

Man did we miss the boat on this Gwen Bunn joint, “Turn The Lights Out”! Luckily for us (and you) our buddy Front2blaq tipped us on this female singer-songwriter/producer from Decatur, who was an alumni of Berklee College of Music. Five years ago this young lady asked herself who she was and what her purpose was. She asked herself those questions and answered through song. The result…“The Verdict”.

Camden Arc is M-Phazes his brand new side project, exploring new sounds and directions. I think it’s great that producers take time to focus on recreating themselves and getting back some passion again. For his debut release “I Don’t Wanna Fall in Love” he takes an original pop classic and blasts into the future. There’s lots of interesting new elements combined and I think Camden Arc is just getting started. By the way make sure you snatch up a free download! Get ready, cuz I think some game changers are coming our way later this year.

In an era of constant change it brings me joy to hear something fresh yet recognizable. Slakah the Beatchild has is back with “Soul Movement” Vol. 2 and believe you me, it’s well worth $12.99! The mature sultry sound of “Adventure For 2” will soothe the ear of many women. Whereas the fellas will most definitely love the reminiscent “Where’s Yesterday” where truth is told with rhymes like ‘the people are dying for something different’. Ain’t got nothing more to say other than BUY yourself some quality Soul music and support the real!

DJ Rahdu and the BamaLoveSoul collective have been decreasing your harddrive space since 2008. With their latest “On Deck” 2 compilation they manage to give twelve upcoming artists, such as Rippy Austin, James Tillman, GDNA, Humus, JFinesse and Buscrates, a platform to be heard. Soulful is the keyword on this compilation released via BBE and I think they did a great job. Fresh selection with some raw elements!

Seven Davis Jr’s “Lost Tapes” are no longer lost!! Los Angeles based vocalist, producer and poet put together this amazing release from four and eight track tapes which were lost in storage via a lengthy hiatus due to drug addiction and depression. Now all of sudden there is bright future ahead of Samuel Davis as he surely is the new hope for disco and soulful house music.

29.10.13

Early 2012 the Robert Glasper Experiment unleashed “Black Radio” in to the world. It became highly celebrated and for this reason we at Moovmnt had high expectations of it’s successor. Though “Black Radio” 2 offers a solid seventeen songs with an impressive list of featuring artists such as Snoop Dogg, Common, Jill Scott, Brandy, Dwele, Faith Evans, Norah Jones, Macy Gray and Marsha Ambrosius. In our opinion it lacks the freshness and originality of the first volume. Still we believe a lot of you will love this album and for this reason we suggest you listen to it from beginning to end, purchase it if you desire and enjoy it to the fullest if you can.

15.10.13

After having been in Cali for a few weeks it’s time for some new music again. The Robert Glasper Experiment is on the verge of releasing “Black Radio” 2 and we wanted to provide you with something brand new. Eventhough Chris Dave is clearly missed, we’re sure most of you are going to enjoy the track “No Worries” featuring Dwele. In case you do, make sure you pre-order the album on iTunes.
