A few weeks ago we heard Mr Beatnick‘s new song entitled “Sun Goddess” of the same titled EP coming out next week on Don’t Be Afraid. I thought it was so good that I put it in a mix for #jusayin radio. Don’t know when that will be out, but when Nick just sent over a link to the official video I was happy. So we’re getting closer and closer to the release of Scratcha DVA‘s “Pretty Ugly” album which will be available April 19th on Hyperdub. Together with vocalist Natalie Maddix he made this video, shot during a power cut in London. Very curious about this project!

I think you already know that Ski Beatz will release his 24 Karate School presents Twilight album on February 14, and that Curren$y would be featured on this album. What you probably don’t know is that Brady Watt plays bass on “Fly By” and every other Ski Beat with a Jazz-Fusion influenced bassline. Brady is also playing in the Senseis band alongside Daru Jones and John Cave.

You might have noticed that all of us here at Moovmnt HQ are really excited about Robert Glasper Experiment‘s upcoming “Black Radio” album. Undoubtebly the best album of 2012 already and we haven’t even passed the first month yet. Enjoy this EPK for some interesting background info and behind the scenes recordings. Most of you know what the deal with the Irish producer they call Krystal Klear. This time around he teams up with the slick Olivier DaySoul to release the heavily eighties influenced “Never Thought You Would Go” and the throwback Swingbeat joint “Wastin’ Time”. If it hadn’t been for “Just Vybe” featuring the lovely miss Fatima, I probably would’ve never heard of UK Funky man DVA. Recently he announced his debut album, “Pretty Ugly”,  is coming out in 2012 on Hyperdub Records, but before the end of the year he’ll be releasing a 12″ first. It will contain “Madness” featuring Vikter Duplaix (plus an instrumental version) and “Polyphonic Dreams” on the flipside. Also peep the video or pre-order at Rush Hour.

Erykah’s A Child Of The Funk

Man I love waking up Saturday morning with video’s like these. I guess it kinda reminds me of Yo MTV Raps! MED‘s “Blaxican” was produced by Madlib and is taken from the “Classic” album dropping November 1st. The video was director by Mochilla’s Eric Coleman and shot in LA as you can see.
