As our ‘Werk Space’ adventures unfold, we are having more and more fun every time. Now peep 22-year-old AJ Beats, who represents the city Enschede.

AJ came down from to the Red Bull Studios Amsterdam to work on a serious Funk banger. He started out about 4 years ago producing Hip-Hop beats, but surely evolved his sound more towards Funk-laced beats. This guy is no stranger to drumming. AJ Beats used to have a drum set with 2 snare drums in his room and you hear that in the way he programs his drums.

Under the radar Gerson Rafael from Rotterdam came through to lace some silky vocals. The track remains untitled for now, but will become available on the Red Bull Studios Soundcloud page next week.

jr & ph7 chuuwee
24.03.15

Let us give you the update on JR & PH7. The German production duo, known for their hard knocking boom bap Hip-Hop beats, join forces with Sacramento emcee Chuuwee. The collaborative album “The South Sac Mack” is the result.

The album is clearly dedicated to the 916 and a handful of tracks are even named after neighborhoods throughout Sactown. Chuuwee gives the listener a first-person narrative and makes you experience the capital city of California in a way you might have never imagined. On the production side JR & PH7 keep it really sunny and fresh by using lots of 70’s and 80’s samples.

Clearly the collaboration between these guy was very organic and this one particular track featuring Blu stood out immediately. So I think it’s only right we add “DueYuu” to this post and tell you to head over to iTunes to check out the rest.

Natureboy Flako
23.03.15

It’s hard to ignore a force of nature like Flako. For many years the German Chilean, who now resides in London, has amazed us with genre transcending stuff. On his latest “Natureboy” album, which released earlier today, he stuns us once more.

Such intriguing sounds, mesmorizing harmonies and collaborational partners such as Miguel Atwood-Ferguson and his alter ego Dirg Gerner. With each music project it seems Flako grows and develops himself so much, maturing into an inhuman being perhaps. He no longer makes music, he has become a storyteller of magical tales from the the beyond.

On our last radio show we played “The Odd Beautiful”, but there are so many gems on Natureboy really. Honorable mentions go to “Spice Melange”, “Twelve O’Clock Shadow”, “Lyrebird” and “With Me Now”. You’d be a fool not to get this album, but just for those in doubt…get this on iTunes now!

Workers Abraham Blue Something Else
22.03.15

Meet Workers, a duo from France, consisting of Be Dar (Paris) & Sear Cabe (Nantes). This weekend they unleashed their debut “Knowledges” EP onto the world and it’s dat crack.

The first and main song entitled “Something Else” features Abraham Blue from Antwerp and is on sum next level niceness. Straight vibin’ to this all the way to the bank and back. I guess we should feel lucky this weekend, since Workers are giving away this EP as a free download. You bet this just made our weekend fellas!

Keep your eyes on on Workers and watch out for Abraham Blue, because I’ve heard he is getting ready to drop something hot & heavy on a pretty big label.

Gravez
19.03.15

Now we at Moovmnt have never been into one genre, so at times you will hear some Trap-inspired music on here. Rest assure that when we introduce you to a guy like Gravez, we do it due to the fact this person has been smashin’ it lately!

We have been keeping an eye on this producer out of Atlanta for a minute and his latest “Sole” EP is on sum next sh*t. For those unaware, Gravez has been signed with HW&W and we are hoping a full album is in the works. Just get a load of the track “Red Lotus” with 16-year-old producer Oshi from London, who has been making equally as much noise. Another fine piece of music is the song “All Yours” featuring another Brit, who goes by the name of OZZIE.

If you ask me the EP contains four dope tracks, so if Gravez ever decides to put these up for sale you will want to cop.

Kirkis
19.03.15

The sensational group known as Kirkis is headed by bassist slash producer slash writer slash painter Matthew Kirkis. Good news…the band out of Melbourne uploaded some brand new material to their Soundcloud page entitled “Hypno“.

Such astounding and hypnotizing melodies lurk hidden inside these three minutes of wonderful. This perplex array of funkiness takes us on a psychedelic ride into a far galaxy, yet to be discovered by mankind.

I remember Kirkis was supposed to release his “Liverbleach” album on Eglo Records last year, but I think the release has been postponed. Still looking forward to hearing new material and who knows we might even be able to catch a performance next year.

Medasin
18.03.15

Hello world, meet Medasin. This young producer was born and raised in Dallas and started making beats at the age of thirteen thanks to his older brother.

Over the years he went through many different phases of genres ranging from Trap to EDM to Progressive House. Over the past year he became fascinated with, what Medasin likes to call, the Future Beats movement.

Medasin is heavily representing Film Noir. This collective consists of Oshi, Alexander Lewis, Krs, Blvck Svnd, weirdinside, Masego and many others. Together with the latter, who in our book is an uprising singer and saxophonist, Medasin is working on the release of their “Pink Polo” EP. Our favorite cuts at this point are “Hey Now” and “Technique” (free download), so make sure you grab those and get acquainted.

Frits Wentink Rarely Pure Never Simple
17.03.15

The delightful Dutchman, who goes by the name of Frits Wentink, released his “Rarely Pure, Never Simple” album quite recently via WOLF Music.

His debut LP consists of a bag of samples, chunky percussion and vocal additions from miss Loes Jongerling out of Utrecht. It is a somewhat bizar and at times ear-opening ride into a dim world of Deep House, Lo-Fi grooves with elements present of Jazz and even Hip-Hop. His experimental approach to both hardware and instrumentation, makes his sound one of a kind. Vocal songs such as the title track are rather soulful and downtempo. While other more uptempo cuts like “Glints” bang from the word go, they slowly drift into a more jazzy state of being as the track progresses.

Frits Wentink resides in Amsterdam, but I soon came to learn he is rarely to be found in our small country. Although he is not new to the game, we at Moovmnt learned about Frits Wentink as a result of our ‘Werk Space’ project.

All in all we find his debut to be a super versatile album full of wondrous tones and harmonies. We could only find a buy link to the double LP vinyl, but I’m sure it will be available digitally shortly!
