Dego & Face Are Powerful:

Fresh off the release of his solo LP “A Wha Him Deh Pon?”, Dego is back at it again. This time blessing us with the third in his “Freeness” downloads, consisting of two unreleased tracks. The first being a typical Dego uptempo instrumental entitled “As Is”. The second one is a track I’ve been trying to get my hands on ever since I heard it on Phil Asher’s Restless Soul show a few months back. “Nothing More Powerful” features longtime collaborator Face, and is very reminiscent of the lovely sound Dego co-created with Silhouette Brown. Mr Good Good aka Dego has a new album coming out entitled “A Wha! Him Deh Pon..” on  June 20th via 2000Black. The album features a long list of talented artists such as Taylor McFerrin, Georgia Anne Muldrow, Kaidi Tatham, and Nia Andrews. As a teaser for the album Dego released a non-album exclusive with the help of Putmeonit and RappersIknow. The second track is a snippet from a new 12″ out on 2000 Black, Shokazulu “Part 4″..available in the RushHour store..

Back in 2002, Japanese label Handcuts Records put out King Britt’s “Black to the Future EP”. This 12″ was basically a mini compilation of great tunes compiled by King Britt. On the A-side you could find The Society and Charlie Dark, but man that B-side was something else. Besides a YNQ joint and a great Capitol A track it also featured the Dego & Kaidi produced Face solo track “Butter Angel”. Majorly slept on in my opinion. Enjoy!

The time has finally come for Ty to drop his latest “Special Kind of Fool” album on us. The first single “Emotions” (click HERE to purchase) came out last month and contained some big names on the remixes. Waajeed was one of the producers on there, but my person fav was the Dego & Akwasi‘s 2000 Black Remix. We’ve been waiting for this to drop eversince we interviewed Ty last year before his show at the Bitterzoet in Amsterdam. This release is now available via and on CD via the BBE website, so show sum love for this Hip Hop veteran! Songs like “Heart Is Breaking”, “Get 2 The Sky”, “Me” and “Falling” are just incredible and show us that Ty still got it even after being in the game for so long. Definitely a worhty successor to “Closer” and this honestly sounds like a breath of fresh air.
