Teebs upcoming album “Ardour” was made during two major periods of Teebs’ life. Having just lost his job and with little to no money, Teebs moved into the same apartment complex as Flying Lotus and shared living quarters with another Brainfeeder affiliate, Samiyam. It was here that the beginning stages and one-half of Ardour were created. Before Teebs was aware his album was showing itself, his father who had been terminally ill, passed away. He moved back home and stopped making music. After an arduous period where he ceased work on the album altogether, Teebs was able to regain focus and finish the album at home. Lorn is about to release his debut album “Nothing Else” on FlyLo‘s Brainfeeder label. This 23 year old producers from the Illinois, drops a rather melancholic and brutal debut on us. The off-centre melodic “Cherry Moon” is available as a FREE download so get it while it’s hot. Nothing Else I’ve heard recently sounds this raw and angry, but I guess that’s what you get when you grow up in the middle of nowhere. Only Mountain is the newest release from L.A.-based beat producer Take. He was prominently featured on seminal releases such as From L.A. With Love, Flying Lotus L.A EP 3, and this year’s All City 10-inch. Take is really pushing the boundaries of the beat scene on Only Mountain, so it might take a few listens for me to really get it. Right now I can say  “Neon Beams” and “Juniper” obviously stood out as the most brilliant tracks on the album. Only Mountain will be released on April 20th on Alpha Pup.

Shlohmo‘s free online a release just got pimped the f*ck up by FoF Music and is now officially out as a digital release under the name “Shlomoshun Deluxe”. To really bring home the ‘Friends of Friends’ theme on this release, Shlohmo has invited Low Limit (of Lazer Sword), Fulgenace (Musique Large), Tokimonsta (Brainfeeder) and devonwho (Klipmode) to handle remix duties, acting as a brief showcase for Shlohmo and some of his people. We’re back again with a tantalizing Fulgeance remix! Our croissant loving beat maker hooked us up with a remix he did for Shlohmo, a young cat coming out of Frisco. He recently released his “Shlo-Fi” EP via Error Broadcast and is well on his way to taking over the Bay Area. Now back to this Fulgeance remix.
