This year we shot a load of video footage, but due to some circumstances we never got around to editing it and bringing it to ya’ll. Since it’s almost Christmas and the year has almost ended, we had to go out with some gifts in the form of some video’s. We shot an epic video last summer starring Exile & DJ Day which never saw the lights of day. It was shot at the Rooms of Red Bull where we hosted the Beat Battle at the Rooms of Red Bull together with Nalden. The only reason why this video never got properly uploaded, was because Vimeo decided to upload the footage, but kept on messing up the aspect ratio in the progress. We tried everything and eventually gave up all hope. Luckily my buddy Joao Costa (who shot and edited all the footage) came with a solution and managed to properly upload it to Vimeo at last. Thanks to Alex, Damien, Jonathan and Olski for meeting up with us. It was a pleasure and we had fun talkin’ bout the funky worm.
You might remember this young buck that came out of nowhere and blew away the crowd at the Beat Battle at the Rooms of Red Bull. Well 1st Angle is back with another, short but flavorful, 8-bit inspired beat called “Don’t Stop”. It dropped via Beat M Up so nuff respect for those cats! Early this month I had the honor to meet the one and only B. Bravo and his little bro Kent. I really had fun with those guys and thanks for coming to the Beat Battle at the Rooms of Red Bull. Now I know the album art is not finished yet, but we just had to share this ill remix joint from the upcoming “Computa Love” EP that’s due on Fritenite. Glad we could be of help on your European trip and happy you met cats like DJ Lefto, Simbad, Morgan Zarate, Bullion, Floating Points, Flyherro, Chima, etc. Next time we’re in Frisco you know we’re doing an L.A. trip fo sho! It took ages, or so it seemed, but finally all the audio was gathered and we asked JayHats to mix everything down so it sounds just right. No crappy sound, although please keep in mind that the beats you heard live at the battle may sound a bit different from this compilation. If you truly want to relive the moment I suggest you play these beats in a residential area, preferably as loud as possible. For those who weren’t at the Beat Battle at the Rooms of Red Bull…ya’ll missed a CLASSIC! Either way we asked all contestants to donate one beat so we could put together this compilation album. We called it “The Afterthought” because we thought it necessary to look back on what the f*ck happened that night. BEAT BATTLE AT THE ROOMS OF RED BULL: “THE AFTERTHOUGHT”
Sorry we didn’t have time to update the website, but we were busy working on this event. Just a little taste from my man Lefto who shot this nice video last weekend. Hope you can get an idea of what the Beat Battle at the Rooms of Red Bull was like and how high both the quality of the beat makers and the energy level was. FS Green just gave me goosebumps when he played that dubstep joint man! Anyways…more footage very soon. Thanks ya’ll for coming out and next year we might even do it bigger, better and cooler. Saturday August 8th ‘A Moovmnt with Nalden’ presents the finest beat makers our small country has to offer. Sixteen participants face off against eachother no holds bar! At the “Rooms of Red Bull” they will battle for the title ‘Red Bull Beat Champion’ off the Netherlands and 500 euros worth of prize money.
This year two of the most influential Dutch beat-minded hiphop blogs: Moovmnt.com and Nalden.net are hosting the Beat Battle at the Rooms of Red Bull event for the first time ever in the Netherlands. Our very own Belgian neighbour Lefto will be hosting the event and from 20:00 hours we will have an action-packed evening for you in store with beat makers like: FS Green, I.N.T, Louis Bordeaux, Bluntspeakers, Dyno, Hayzee, J83, Wan, Statik Music, Presto, Marcus Sebastian, Jay Bordeaux, Yskid and more. A handful of participants will be picked by means of a wildcard system and will be invited via Moovmnt.com and Nalden.net! So listen up all you Dutch beat makers…here’s what you have to do to get invited to compete against the cream of the crop.
1. Visit Moovmnt.com or Nalden.net 2. Start zippping a demo folder containing at least 2 or 3 battle beats 3. Send the .zip file or a link to the file to music@moovmnt.com 4. Don’t forget to add your name, email and phone number

To celebrate and promote the fact we’re organizing the Beat Battle at the Rooms of Red Bull (together with Nalden), we decided to ask djbroadcast if we could do a radioshow. A two hour Beat Special is what we decided to bless your ears with and you’re in for a special treat. Big man I.N.T (La Melodia) is going to be playing together with Deluge and MRP and me will be mixing together the other hour. Be sure to tune in to RBMA Radio from 18:00 till 20:00 hours (GMT+1).
