When Computer Jay told us he was invited by the guys from BD to do his live set at the Viral Radio X Beat Dimensions release party tomorrow, I was kinda psycked. I’ve seen some footage online and can’t wait to check out Jay and his electronic alter ego perform live. Not only will local heroes Cinnaman & Juha be playing, but you can expect a whole lot of dopeness from Danny Breaks (UK), Jay Scarlett and Jay of course! Saturday August 8th ‘A Moovmnt with Nalden’ presents the finest beat makers our small country has to offer. Sixteen participants face off against eachother no holds bar! At the “Rooms of Red Bull” they will battle for the title ‘Red Bull Beat Champion’ off the Netherlands and 500 euros worth of prize money.
This year two of the most influential Dutch beat-minded hiphop blogs: Moovmnt.com and Nalden.net are hosting the Beat Battle at the Rooms of Red Bull event for the first time ever in the Netherlands. Our very own Belgian neighbour Lefto will be hosting the event and from 20:00 hours we will have an action-packed evening for you in store with beat makers like: FS Green, I.N.T, Louis Bordeaux, Bluntspeakers, Dyno, Hayzee, J83, Wan, Statik Music, Presto, Marcus Sebastian, Jay Bordeaux, Yskid and more. A handful of participants will be picked by means of a wildcard system and will be invited via Moovmnt.com and Nalden.net! So listen up all you Dutch beat makers…here’s what you have to do to get invited to compete against the cream of the crop.
1. Visit Moovmnt.com or Nalden.net 2. Start zippping a demo folder containing at least 2 or 3 battle beats 3. Send the .zip file or a link to the file to music@moovmnt.com 4. Don’t forget to add your name, email and phone number

Spanish beat maker Mweslee of the Arkestra collective drops the fourth beat 45 in the All City Beat series.You may already know him from his Megaplast EP (via Kindred Spirits) or his contribution on the compilation Beat Dimensions and he has his debut LP – Primer – out soon.
