Seravince consists of producer/keyboard player Vincent Helbers and drummer Richard Spaven who have been working together for quite some time now. The band is heavily influenced by Jazz, Soul, Hip Hop and as you can hear Broken Beat. Their upcoming album, “Hear To See”, will have guest vocals from Renee Neufville (Zhane) and Sharlene Hector. When we got the opportunity to share this unreleased song entitled, “Unrequited Love”, featuring Renee Neufville with you guys we were more than happy to do so. Sit back and enjoy this lovely song. Oh in case you’re in the neighborhood. This Friday the whole band, including Renee Neufville and Sharlene Hector, will be performing live at BIRD in Rotterdam!

This past July, the Do-Over crew spent a week in the Philippines for a Manila edition of their now world renown backyard party. Alongside the usual crew they brought Beat Junkie Rhettmatic as well as Bugz in the Attic’s Daz-I-Kue along for the ride. The two teamed up with local producer Red-I and spent their spare time on the trip making music together. The result? A free download entitled The Do-Over Manila EP, featuring a variety of instrumental tracks by the three collectively as well as individually. I must admit that the download process is a bit of a hassle, but if you like what you hear it’s a small price to pay. Check it out on The Do-Over’s website.

Most of you probably heard of Daz-I-Kue (Bugz In The Attic) from back in the days when that West London sound was filling our ears with soulful broken beats. Now I never heard of Stan Smith before, but this newly discovered MC from Atlanta teamed up with Daz-I-Kue and they made an entire album together. DJ’s are gonna love this, because this funky debut album called “The Get Up Movement” contains some dancefloor party anthems fo sho. Really interesting album coming out later this month on Tokyo Dawn Records (available for pre-order).

Mashin’ Beats:
One of our favorite Kiwi producers, Mark de Clive-Lowe, has been residing in Los Angeles for quite some time now and has returned with his “Renegades” album on Tru Thoughts. Still lots of West London Broken Beats and other melodic uptempo flavors as well. Mashi gets a little help from various vocalists such as Omar, Sheila E, Tawiah, Bembe Segue, Nia Andrews & Ovasoul7. All in all a great new album to shake them hips to. I’m sure the club DJ’s are gonna be happy with this one cuz it sure do bump. Pre-order the CD over at Rush Hour or get a digital copy at .

Dego & Face Are Powerful:
Fresh off the release of his solo LP “A Wha Him Deh Pon?”, Dego is back at it again. This time blessing us with the third in his “Freeness” downloads, consisting of two unreleased tracks. The first being a typical Dego uptempo instrumental entitled “As Is”. The second one is a track I’ve been trying to get my hands on ever since I heard it on Phil Asher’s Restless Soul show a few months back. “Nothing More Powerful” features longtime collaborator Face, and is very reminiscent of the lovely sound Dego co-created with Silhouette Brown. Head over to the 2000Black website to get your “Freeness” Vol. 3 now!

So I was just cruisin’ the digital highway when I stumbled onto Kaidi Tatham‘s brand new “Kaidi’s 5ive” EP which just sounds ridiculously good. Always love the jazzy yet funky West London style Kaidi’s is on. This EP is the first in a series initiated by Jazz Re:freshed and is available for purchase via their Bandcamp page for a short time until the full digital release in September.

Dego’s solo debut “A Wha! Him Deh Pon” will finally be released on June 20th on 2000Black and to remind you all of the genius he has brought us he has enlisted the help of my man DJ Brainchild. Brainchild has compiled a great mix of both released as well as unreleased tracks by the man behind 4Hero and Silhouette Brown. Nothing more to say about this one… enjoy!

2000black are still dropping some broken beat badness in 2011! They have a brand new 12″ coming out that’s about to drop. Listen to “Dis Yah One I Love” by Shokazulu, produced by Dego me thinks, and have a peak at their website for more info.

Back in 2002, Japanese label Handcuts Records put out King Britt’s “Black to the Future EP”. This 12″ was basically a mini compilation of great tunes compiled by King Britt. On the A-side you could find The Society and Charlie Dark, but man that B-side was something else. Besides a YNQ joint and a great Capitol A track it also featured the Dego & Kaidi produced Face solo track “Butter Angel”. Majorly slept on in my opinion. Enjoy!
