I gave it some thought, but decided to post a little something about the new Finest Ego compilation anyway. In all honesty this is one of the least interesting ones I’ve heard so far though. Since it was time for Germany, Austria and Switzerland to represent I had high hopes, but could only find a few mediocre productions on here. Might just be me being hard to please, but all I wanted to share with you guys was this beat from Chief. Much appreciation for the free download, but I hope in 2012 the compilations get better quality wise. Personally I’d rather hear 10 amazing productions than 33 mediocre ones. Free downloads available up till Jan. 6th so get it while it lasts.

The Tru Shapes of Things To Come:
A few months ago we got this promo CD in the mail and it slipped my mind that this “Shapes 11:01″ compilation was released last week. I remember this new Mark de Clive-Lowe song, “Push”, of his upcoming “Renegades” album being on there (also out on Tru Thoughts next month). It features Bembe Segue and Nia Andrews on the vocals. This compilation is out on 2 x CD and on vinyl (available at HHV.de) and contains some heavy hitters from Zed Bias aka Maddslinky, MdCL, Nostalgia 77, Hidden Orchestra, Quantic and a whole lot more.

Volume two in the LA loves Japan trilogy was compiled by Hashim B and is again intended to raise money for all the victims of the earthquake in the land of the rising sun. For just $10 you get a whopping 26-track comp with music from Grooveman Spot, TOKiMONSTA, Mabanua, RLP, Monkey_sequence19, MFP and many others. Took me a while to get my hands on “LA♥JPN♥LA” Vol. 2, but I can tell you it’s just as dope as “LA♥JPN♥LA” Vol. 1. It came out today and is available on the Japanese and on Boomkat. Watch out for the third and final edition and please show some support.

Seems like almost yesterday, but in fact it was 5 years ago the first compilation came out. Once again they’re back with “Brownswood Bubblers Seven” this time which will be out on the 26th. Lots of music from Jon Phonics, KING, Chris Turner, Jesse Boykins, Tall Black Guy, The Park and Ntjam Rosie so keep an eye out for this one.

Very early sneak peak at the upcoming Finest Ego compilation. This time it’s the United Kingdom and Ireland that get to represent their hood. There’s some good stuff on here, but for me the biggest song was “Blurry Dream” by fLako, who moved to the UK just to be a part of this compilation. Check out the Finest Ego Bandcamp to check out what is coming August 5th. Buy links will follow in due time.

Just came across this great “We Came For The Music…” compilation album from Boglewaltz. It features a new wave of musical talent from across London and beyond. Containing music from Morgan Zarate, Kay Suzuki, Guynamite, Soulpersona, Analog Jones and more. You might remember Morgan’s “Satin White” from when we posted it a year ago, but finally available digitally. Visit their Bandcamp to give the entire thing a proper listen.
