My man Aimé Cain hit me up with a little something yesterday. Together with Bluntspeakers he had been working on “The L’s Heart U” EP for a little bit since it was postponed from it’s original February release date. Deluge and me just came back from Joya Mooi‘s album pre-listening party at MC. Late as usual we missed the whole shebang, but still got to chill with Full Crate, Mar, SirOJ, Joya, Yoji and miss Mountainwood for a minute. I had heard an early leak of “When I Take A Step Back” (produced by Presto) and was semi impressed at the time. After having heard the rest of the album I can truly say this…I’m a fan of miss Mooi! Not because she has the looks, not because she’s a nice person, but because I truly admire the way she comes across as an artist.
One of my favorites is the duet with Mar called “My Day”. Her debut album “Hard Melk” is a soundtrack for the new theater play BH and features almost every single Dutch producer you’d want on your album. Just to name a few: SirOJ, Presto, Hayzee, Wan, Dub Spensa and Crate who kinda put everything together musically. You can check out the entire album over HERE and view her video after the jump. First of all I’d like to give due props to Osman for gettin’ is hip to Stalley. He sent us a video a few months back and we liked it a lot, but I personally never digged deeper than that. Now my man Deluge recently did and in light of his On-Point interview, I thought it would be only right to get ya’ll hip to Madstalley as well.
This Ohio native hailing from New York dropped his mixtape “MadStalley: The Autobiography” last year, done over re-workings of Madlib beats showcasing his potential. Now 2010 is definitely Stalley’s year to blow. Stalley’s heavily featured on Ski Beatz upcoming “24 Hour Karate School” mixtape (on Dame Dash’ Creative Control label) and is also set to release a project in collaboration with Sa-Ra Creative Partners.

Earlier today my man Full Crate called me up (sick as a dog) about this event Zwoel that’s taking place this Sunday at the Bitterzoet in Amsterdam. My man Mar is going to be performing live and also Szjerdene and Rahkshan (both from London) will be present to bless ya’ll with a live show. I know my Amsterdam peoples will be present to show love & support and I invite you all to join us (where’s my Rotterdam crew at?)

I wanted to start off by saying happy B-day to my man FS!!! Congratz on turning 21 and thanks for the mail you sent us. For the love of it Element & FS Green dropped a new joint on us called “Pacquiao”. This Toronto cat Element found the beat on FS Green’s State Beat Tape and recorded this track to it. FS heard the song online and instantly co-signed it. I got one thing to say…get that money!

Moovmnt Presents: “DAMN…MORE FUNK!?!” by Moovmnt
Last weekend Dam-Funk touched down in Rotterdam and tore the roof off! After this Strange Fruit saga, there will be a sequal or as you will a second chance for those that missed out. This time we contacted the fellas from Plat du Jour and told them we were doing a sequal to the DAMN…FUNK!?! promotional mix. MRP and me wanted to dig a lot deeper this time and behold the outcome – DAMN…MORE FUNK!?! – Thirtyfive minutes of nasty, sweaty funk covered with some nu-boogie flavour sprinkled on top. We’re proud to bring you our second Boogie/Funk mix and we hope you enjoy it as much or even more as you did the first one. Don’t forget to check out Dam-Funk Oct. 22nd at the Plat du Jour ADE special in the Bitterzoet (Amsterdam). Moovmnt Presents: “Damn…Funk!?!” by Moovmnt
When we heard that Dam-Funk was coming over, MRP and me decided to get our funky strutt on and mix up a little Boogie/Funk mix. Enjoy these twentyfive minutes of pure, unadulterated Funk and get in the mood for Dam-Funk’s European tour. Our friends at Strange Fruit loved the idea and so we suggested this mix was to be used as a promotional mix for the Strange Fruit presents: Dam-Funk event, held on October 10th in Rotterdam. Thelonius & Lucky Dubz will be sound providers for the rest of the evenening so come one, come all and get ya boogie on!
