From Portland, OR comes M64, a collaboration between MC/producer Ohmega Watts and singer Ragen Fykes. You may know Ohmega from his albums “The Find” (2005) and “Watts Happening” (2007) on Ubiquity Records. In turn you may have heard of Ragen through her work with artists such as Living Legends, Braille, Tanya Morgan and DJ Jamad & Nicolay. The two first worked together on “Watts Happening” and then proceeded to work on a 3 track EP which over time turned into the M64 project. Today marks their first official release “Rhythm Of The Drum” b/w “In The Pocket”, which is being released on Record Breakin’ Music as a limited edition 7″ single as well as a digital download. Keep an eye out for M64 as they’re currently working on a full length album which is set to drop later this year.

Anthony Valadez is complicated. Passionate about everything, motivated by nothing, inspired by some things, moved by the under dogs of the world.  As a kid, Ant.Vala used to get into trouble doodling action scenes on his school assignments.  His 3rd grade teacher (Mrs Brisco, Langdon Elementary School) made him sit on his hands an entire day due to his excessive drum solos on his desk during class.  He was once forced to write a thousand words (me) as punishment for his excessive talking during class..

10 years later, he talks mad shit, speaks his mind, plays the drums and doodles now more so than ever.. But at the tender age of 30, Ant.Vala does it with confidence + swagg. Ant.Vala went on to study theatre in college.  Writing a modern day adaptation of the greek tragedy of Antigone utilizing 2 turntables + 1 mixer which toured across Los Angeles in 2003. The production (along with Ant.Valadez) was invited to Shanghai China as part of its annual Shanghai Experimental Theatre Festival.   Ant.Valadez later went on to dee jay across the globe from London to Argentina dee jaying @ various functions.  He held a solid residence @ the Legendary Temple Bar for 4 years opening for the likes of Nikka Costa, Les Nubians, Ben Harper, Cee-Lo Green, Van Hunt, Meshell Ndegeocello, Eric Roberson, Raphael Saadiq,  Doug E Fresh, Sy Smith, Kim Hill, The Pharcyde, Richard Bona, Money Mark,  and much more.  Ant.Vala also went on to tour with former Interscope Recording Artist RES across the United States as her tour dee jay opening for Talib Kweli and Jean Grae

At the moment he is now on 89.9 KCRW breaking new sounds of soul + beats + jazz + folks + more.

Ant.Vala just released this beautifull track entitled GO feat.  Wendisue (Vox), John Robinson aka Lil Sci (Vox) Flying Lotus (keys+ drum sequence) Dexter Story (bass) Rebekah (Harp) Shaunte Palmer (Keys) on DJ Junior’s label “Recordbreakin”.
