Another hectic weekend has almost come to an end. So why not end the week with a lovely SA-RA Creative Partners re-work, re-edit, remix or whatever you want to call it. Check out Eric Roberson‘s “Couldn’t Hear Me Ova The Music” in a somewhat different style, but you know when SA-RA remixes it, it must be nice as fuck. Excuse me for this short ass post, but I’m really tired. Enjoy, relax and good night..

One of Hiphop’s most underrated producers must be Kev Brown from the Low Budget crew. After Hennessey parts 1 & 2 it’s now time for ya’ll to enjoy part 3. “Hennessey Pt. 3″ is from the Random Joints EP and features Kenn Starr, Raheem Devaughn, Eric Roberson and Wayna. “The Random Joint” might be an oldy, but goodie!

Now how many people are born with the perfect DJ name? Amsterdam based Turne Edwards aka DJ Turne was one of these lucky dogs. His legendary “Turne it up dillalicious mixtape vol 1“ got mad respect from all over the globe and was actually finished the day before Dilla died. If you haven’t played this a million times yet hurry up and get it.

Since it’s spring again (no Biz Markie), Turne decided to bless everyone with a brand new mixtape and we at Moovmnt were down to host it of course. So do yourself and your friends a huge favor and download “Big Guys Need Love 2“ if you love that sweet dilladwelelittlebrotherspinnaerykahbaduslumvilld’angelo kinda sound you can vibe to.

Last year me and Nev where at the Black Soil movie festival in Rotterdam when we briefly met DJ Spinna. He is a humbling example of what it takes to truly succeed within the framework of multiple fields. A steadfast work ethic, an obsessively extensive vinyl library and the willingness to pursue the full extents of his roots (Funk, Soul and Jazz), foundation (Hip-Hop) and future (Electronic/Dance music) with no restraints.

Now I’ve always been a big Spinna fan and he’s in my top 5 of best hiphop producers ever. Maybe some remember Spinna from when he teamed up with Kriminul to form the Jigmastas. Others might have been deep into the Beyond Real Experiences or his Here To There album. The last couple of years Spinna has been producing a lot of dance music, but you might have recognized his sound on Eric Roberson‘s Butterfly Girl.

Anyways…I asked the good man what 2009 would bring and he told me he was working on The Beyond Real Experience Vol. 3! I can’t wait to hear a whole new album, but luckily I stumbled upon this Spinna remix he did for Panacea. To be honest I only like how Flashback To Stardom was produced and it gives me some hope for future Spinna releases. I really missed his sound a lot and hope he’ll make a big comeback this year.

ERRO

Eric Roberson made a poem that sums up what many of us think about the music industry as we know it. And this poem is so so good. If you love good music you will understand this, and maybe you can also be a part of the Moovmnt. Cause this is what we are about. We need to bring the music fan’s that honest music. We try to give the real music lovers a platform to talk and hear about this timeless music. So please read this poem, and I hope you will understand…

IF I CONTROLLED IT

if i controled
this as a whole
i would dead all the titles and
mix in soul
with rock and roll
and house and all
knock down the walls
the hip hop laws
turn off auto tune
and show all flaws
open doors
to indie cats
with heart felt raps
and soulful tracks
reward the ones
who give us tons
rather than just one song
for our funds
if i controled it
i would demand
each a&r
be a music fan
be about respect
before ur check
if u spoon feed teens
feed them intellect
offer a message
offer a lesson
an escape, a blessing
offer a weapon
that would fire a bulletin the form of words
that would kill the non sense
that we just heard
i would bring back the legends
develope the young
show them the beautiful way
our stories were sung
i would judge only
your heart and your tongue
cuz looks cant help
the soul of a song
if i controlled this
no art would be lost
over budgets and business
or projected chart
sit would be how i felt
when i pressed play
and opened my ears
to what u had to say
forget about looks
all i would ask
is when u open ur mouth
give what u have
i believe in balance
i believe in music
i believe if you have it
you have to use it
so if i controlled it
first id let it go
sit back and watch
and see where it goes
open my heart
and enjoy what it shows
cuz only God can control
the direction of soul…
Check out this song Eric Roberson did with Lenny Kravitz.
