For some reason Ho Tep releases always seem to elude us. Almost missed out on Dirg Gerner‘s brand new “Preface” EP that just came out. I’ve always suspected 1 particular fella to be this mysterious Dirg Gerner, but now I’m sure it’s him. The lovely miss Fatima blesses the downtempo soul joint called “Rubies & Diamonds” while Dirg himself sings on the incredible “My Queen”. The EP contains 5 breathtaking songs including a remix from fLako and this nice latin-influenced song featuring Rahel. A real must have for you vinyl heads so make sure you cop this one over at Boomkat!

OJ + Gold = Time Leak:

Now most of you where already aware of the French duo called Union. Eealier this year they came correct with “Wings” featuring Elzhi and they now return with a brand new single and video entitled “Time Leak”. For this one OJ and Gold teams up with Talib Kweli and Sly Johnson to create some nice jazz-minded, electronic hip hop music. Their upcoming album, “Analogtronics” will feature the likes of MF Doom, Guilty Simpson and Elzhi. Out on Fat Beats early next year, but in the meanwhile grab the single over at or look for the triangle shaped 7″ over at Fatbeats. Oh and can’t forget to shout out my man fLako for delivering another crackin’ remix!

From Berlin to London to Lonely Town:

As you guys and gals might know, we’ve been supporting the half Chilean producer called fLako for quite some time over at Moovmnt.  We’ve met a few times and he is a very humble guy. He’s been living in London for a while now and is releasing his brand new project entitled “Carving Away The Clay” today. This EP is on some new and improved shit and clearly fLako has been evolving in sound and style over the past few years. The text below expresses the thought behind the EP, which will is available on 10″ vinyl (Rush Hour) as well as digitally via Bandcamp.

‘Carving Away The Clay’ impresses upon the idea of an ongoing process in which raw material is stripped off of anything superfluous or impeding until the essential parts of ourselves are exposed. It is a never ending process of striving for perfection in all areas of life.

Very early sneak peak at the upcoming Finest Ego compilation. This time it’s the United Kingdom and Ireland that get to represent their hood. There’s some good stuff on here, but for me the biggest song was “Blurry Dream” by fLako, who moved to the UK just to be a part of this compilation. So you read all about fLako‘s ‘The Mesektet’ album by now huh? As stated before it’s a collection of music previously only available digitally or not vailable at all. The album was supposed to drop in only a few days, but I just saw that HHV is expecting them around the 20th instead.
