Another year has passed us by again. For the thrird time we’re gonna end the year with our very own ‘Best of 2011′. Together with Nevill and Deluge, I’ve picked out some of the finest music that was released this year. Many thanks to all our visitors and of course the artists out there making music that matters. We wish you a blessed 2012 with loads of great music and make sure you go out with a blast!!
It’s been a while since we posted a Paul Pre mix, but I thought it was a good idea to share his latest “1000 Fellas” mix. He made this one to celebrate the fact he has reached 1000 followers on Mixcloud. This one has a little bit of everything and sounds kinda smooth. Lets face it…can’t go wrong with two Thundercat songs right!?! Enjoy and make sure to follow Moovmnt as well as Paul Pre on Mixcloud for that sound you like.
Oh boy oh boy oh boy! Sam aka Floating Points is returning November 21st with his “Shadows” EP on Eglo Records. I’ve truly fallen in love with this one song “Myrtle Avenue” featuring miss Fatima. It just sounds so incredibly sexy! The video for “Sais” is also pretty tight, so I suggest you peep that as well. The visuals were created live in realtime by Will Hurt as part of their live A/V collaboration. Already available for pre-order at Rush Hour!

UK’s funk heavyweight ARP 101 has just released his latest “U/Groove” EP on Eglo Records and it’s a banger! This EP has a third track on there called “True” that I wanted you to hear. Some straight sick modern funk jams on this baby with those distinctive vocoder melodies. London is putting modern funk on the map with this release fo sho! Make sure you buy this one at your local vinyl spot or order it HERE via Rush Hour.

Wow…another great Japan tribute has just been released by UNITE. The “I Heart Japan” mix features music from Count Bass D, Stacy Epps, Bahamadia, Oh No, Floating Points, Georgia Anne Muldrow, Roddy Rod and many more. There’s also an art book that was designed by Jewell Green of Frolab which features visual artists such as Masakatsu Kondo, Anna-Lina Balke, Goldi Gold, Jennifer Lester and many more. All the artists were so generous as to donate their artwork and music to help a community in need. In return it would nice of us all to donate $10 which will be donated to the Association for Aid and Relief Japan (AAR Japan). Donate HERE..

In preparation for the launch of the forthcoming Eglo website, the guys took to the streets to record a little video for my favorite song from Fatima…“Mind”, taken from her “Follow You” EP produced entirely by Floating Points. It’s all luv innit!
Been waiting for this for a while now, but it’s finally out. Picked up my copy at Rush Hour yesterday and I can only urge you to get the new Floating Points 12″ on Eglo asap. This one song “Marilyn” had me trippin’ out for weeks and “Faruxz” is also pretty proper b-side if you ask me. Get your vinyl at Rush Hour now and support good music!

Bought my copy of Fatima‘s “Follow Me”EP last week and again Eglo Records is bringing out something I just have to spend my money on. This time it’s a Floating Points release coming out next week including two brand new tracks. The b-side is called “Faruxz” which is a bit more mellowed out and kinda spacey at the same time. More uptempo and suitable for the dance floor is Sam’s “Marilyn”. This one is going to knock your socks off…just check this snippet!

Earlier this week we received an early promo copy of Fatima‘s upcoming “Follow You” EP and we can tell you it’s amazing. This one’s entirely produced by Floating Points and just sounds bananas. Perhaps you’ve heard the mesmerizing “Mind” before on the radio, but I bet you guys haven’t heard “Red Light” yet. The homies from Eglo uploaded this preview to Youtube which we would like to share with you all. The EP is set to release in May and a small run of vinyl copies will also available prior to the digital release.
“Tailor Made” will be the first single from Daedelus‘ upcoming album “Bespoke”. The single will be out on March 21st and will also contain a Floating Points and Tokimonsta remix. Now NinjaTune made Toki’s remix available as a free download..so go and grab it.
