Earlier this week we received an early promo copy of Fatima‘s upcoming “Follow You” EP and we can tell you it’s amazing. This one’s entirely produced by Floating Points and just sounds bananas. Perhaps you’ve heard the mesmerizing “Mind” before on the radio, but I bet you guys haven’t heard “Red Light” yet. The homies from Eglo uploaded this preview to Youtube which we would like to share with you all. The EP is set to release in May and a small run of vinyl copies will also available prior to the digital release.
“Tailor Made” will be the first single from Daedelus‘ upcoming album “Bespoke”. The single will be out on March 21st and will also contain a Floating Points and Tokimonsta remix. Now NinjaTune made Toki’s remix available as a free download..so go and grab it.

Ninja Tune are very proud to announce the double A-side 10″ Floating Points Ensemble single, recorded and mixed at the legendary Abbey Road Studios for the Ninja Tune XX twentieth anniversary celebration.
Sam Shepherd aka Floating Points has been wowing the electronic music world since his self-released debut 7” single came out early in 2009. Releasing predominantly on Eglo records (which he runs alongside Rinse Fm’s Alexander Nut) as well as Planet Mu and R2, Shepherd’s productions have earned him the support of such luminaries as Theo Parrish, Kyle Hall, Benji B, Ramadanman, Four Tet, Kode 9 and Mary Anne Hobbs. Twenty years ago Jon More and Matt Black, collectively known as Coldcut, made Ninja Tune. Now twenty years is a long time for anything, but for an independent record label it’s aeons. So to celebrate they decided to focus on new material, new newness in the form of a huge boxset “Ninja Tune XX”. It will include new music from Roots Manuva, The Cinematic Orchestra, Mr Scruff, The Bug, Bonobo, Daedelus, Dorian Concept, Floating Points and many others. Also it will include new remixes from Cut Chemist, Mark Pritchard, Rustie, Prefuse 73, Mala, Todd Edwards, Gaslamp Killer and many more. Full tracklist here…
The boxset consists of 3 hardback cases packed in an outer box (delivered in a bespoke transit case) and includes 6 x CD’s, 6 x 7″, 2 x posters, 20 stickers & the hardback edition of the book “Ninja Tune: 20 Years of Beats and Pieces”. This crack will hit the streets September 20th and will be a collectors item if you ask me. Just a small preview of what you can expect.

As Eglo records reaches it’s 10th release, West London’s Funkineven releases his third record already. On one side we have “Heartpound” which really is a tune for the dancefloor, while on the other side “Another Space” reminds me a bit of some early rave shit from back in the days. Steve has been busy remixing for Hyperdub artist Ikonika while at the same time practicing as part of Fatima‘s live band. Who made their debut appearance for Deviation at Fabric recently, supporting Bilal. Pictures of which can be found HERE.

You might have heard this on Alex Nut’s show on Rinse FM before, but now we finally know the artist and track name. Don’t have any extra information about Arp 101. It’s out on Eglo Records and is available through Rush Hour. Thanks to Mymanhenri and Alex Nut.

Funkineven is on some straight up Future Funk with his latest 12″ entitled “She’s Acid”. Really great music coming out of the Eglo camp lately and with this being their 8th release I think congratz are in order. Also congratz to Steve for getting signed to Hyperdub recently. The flipside has “Must Move” on it which is more of a psyched out electronic eighties tune if you ask me. Head over to Rush Hour to purchase the vinyl, because the A-side alone is well worth the money!

When miss Fatima (Eglo Fam) was in Rotterdam last year, I asked her which female vocalists she really liked. She told me that her half sister (who she met at a very late stage in her life) turned out to be a fantastic singer. I thought she was pulling my chain, but the plot thickens. Young Swedish Seinabo is actually a very dope vocalist and she’s getting ready to dazzle the world. Together with Frank Nobel she started a group called Def Chronic and here is a sneak preview of things to come. You know where you heard it first..let us know what you think of this upcoming project. Check out what Seinabo had to say her self.
Woke up early this morning, took a long walk home from my uncles house. Realized that it’s up to me and only me to become who I want to be. I need to get this show out of my head and on to a stage. So I decided to let you all hear what has been on store waiting for warmer days, decided to wear the summer dress even though some people still think it’s too cold outside, Ya feel me?!
These snippets are previews, the fruit of a week in January, me, Frank and a whole lot of coffee. It’s not properly mixed just yet, that’s why I’m calling it RAW. But soon enough it’s going to be READY, little 3 plus minutes soundtracks of our life’s. Downloadable, danceable, singalongable, viewable, funkable little keys to a dream. Get ready for the EP , DEF CRONIC oooweeee.
