Most of you will remember Julien Dyne from his “Pins and Digits” EP from last year. Right before Christmas Julien is releasing his brand new “Glimpse” album on Wonderful Noise. We wrote a little something about the single several months ago in case you forgot. While Wonder Noise is taking care of the Asian side of business, BBE will be suplying the rest of the world. Rest assure there will be plenty of opportunities for you to get your grubby little hands on this release. This will be coming out on CD and digitally. Tokyo Dawn is back with another great release. The German-based production and DJ collective SoulParlor is about to release their “Evoluzion” album, which spelled bacwards reads ‘Noiz U Love’. We are happy to introduce this fresh vocalist Taprikk Sweezee, who was born in Berlin and is now living/working in Hamburg. He has a small label called Zoikmusic and released his “Conversea” EP last year. On his new “Poly” EP he works with producers such as Busy (USA), E.A.R.L (Netherlands) and HBO (France). As far as the sound goes…this EP is really all over the place. I hear some futuristic funk, nu soul, glitch and many other influences on here. Our personal favorite has to be “Newend”. After Cologne’s JR & PH7 released their debut album “The Standard” last year they’re back in bizness with their next effort, simply entitled “The EP”. The six track strong EP features artists like Blu, Termanology, Oddisee, Ohmega Watts & Trek Life and sounds fresh. I really like what these guys are bringing out time after time and they always work with vocalists I dig (accept for Eternia…not my thing). I urge you guys to check this one out for yourselves and let us know what you think. This EP might just be sort of a warm up for even bigger things to come…in the form of their sophomore album “The Update”. It’s due to drop this fall on Soulspazm Records, but more info on that later. Tonight the final ‘Make a Living, Making Music’ producers workshops will take place at Club Up in Amsterdam. A Q&A will take place with Chilean producer fLako, who resides in Londen at the moment. This young producer recently took the step to make a living with making music. After the meet and greet we will listen to all the creations for the “Appelsap 10 years Commercial” and the winner will be announced. I really hope the homies Bluntspeakers, Dukehugh & Princeofbeatz did their thang. The winner will be rewarded the junXion Software and eternal fame of course.
