Fashionably late, but right on time we present to you the “Conversations With Her” EP. Now a lot of you got hip to Full Crate & Mar through us and it’s only logic that we support these guys like we have been doing from the get go. While visiting OJ‘s website, we stumbled upon this new freebie “Phonenumber”. It’s an oldy from two years ago, but this is just what the doctor ordered. This soulful joint is off the heezy and if you haven’t voted, regarding to the State Awards, yet click HERE to choose your favorite Dutch producer. It took ages, or so it seemed, but finally all the audio was gathered and we asked JayHats to mix everything down so it sounds just right. No crappy sound, although please keep in mind that the beats you heard live at the battle may sound a bit different from this compilation. If you truly want to relive the moment I suggest you play these beats in a residential area, preferably as loud as possible. For those who weren’t at the Beat Battle at the Rooms of Red Bull…ya’ll missed a CLASSIC! Either way we asked all contestants to donate one beat so we could put together this compilation album. We called it “The Afterthought” because we thought it necessary to look back on what the f*ck happened that night. Saturday August 8th ‘A Moovmnt with Nalden’ presents the finest beat makers our small country has to offer. Sixteen participants face off against eachother no holds bar! At the “Rooms of Red Bull” they will battle for the title ‘Red Bull Beat Champion’ off the Netherlands and 500 euros worth of prize money. This year two of the most influential Dutch beat-minded hiphop blogs: Moovmnt.com and Nalden.net are hosting the Beat Battle at the Rooms of Red Bull event for the first time ever in the Netherlands. Our very own Belgian neighbour Lefto will be hosting the event and from 20:00 hours we will have an action-packed evening for you in store with beat makers like: FS Green, I.N.T, Louis Bordeaux, Bluntspeakers, Dyno, Hayzee, J83, Wan, Statik Music, Presto, Marcus Sebastian, Jay Bordeaux, Yskid and more. A handful of participants will be picked by means of a wildcard system and will be invited via Moovmnt.com and Nalden.net! It’s been a long time coming and finally its here. Our close buddy Full Crate (half of the Mixing Monthly crew) teamed up with this fresh vocalist Mar and whipped up a lovely feelgood track called She Was Fly. It’s the perfect early-in-the-morning track. Here’s what Crate had to say about it: “Last month I Produced a song called ‘She Was Fly’, I asked Mar to do some vocals. The song needed a video, so we shot one. The cover was done by Brian Elstak (picture by Tim ‘Klips’ Pen)”. Yes Yes Y’all celebrates their one year anniversary with a special podcast, it’s more a “Thank U” than a celebration, but we surely think this fine blog deserves a celebration. The download is a full package with a cd, full booklet and bonus material, which are all worth mentioning. The main tracklist contains mainly names that were unfamiliar to us (how is it possible?!) but we’re glad to get to know them. But the bonus (beat)tape also has our favourite producers (FS Green, Hayzee, FullCrate & SirOJ) from here in Amsterdam on it.
