As you guys and gals might know, we’ve been supporting the half Chilean producer called fLako for quite some time over at Moovmnt. We’ve met a few times and he is a very humble guy. He’s been living in London for a while now and is releasing his brand new project entitled “Carving Away The Clay” today. This EP is on some new and improved shit and clearly fLako has been evolving in sound and style over the past few years. The text below expresses the thought behind the EP, which will is available on 10″ vinyl (Rush Hour) as well as digitally via Bandcamp.
‘Carving Away The Clay’ impresses upon the idea of an ongoing process in which raw material is stripped off of anything superfluous or impeding until the essential parts of ourselves are exposed. It is a never ending process of striving for perfection in all areas of life.

A few months ago we got this promo CD in the mail and it slipped my mind that this “Shapes 11:01″ compilation was released last week. I remember this new Mark de Clive-Lowe song, “Push”, of his upcoming “Renegades” album being on there (also out on Tru Thoughts next month). It features Bembe Segue and Nia Andrews on the vocals. This compilation is out on 2 x CD and on vinyl (available at HHV.de) and contains some heavy hitters from Zed Bias aka Maddslinky, MdCL, Nostalgia 77, Hidden Orchestra, Quantic and a whole lot more.

So you read all about fLako‘s ‘The Mesektet’ album by now huh? As stated before it’s a collection of music previously only available digitally or not vailable at all. The album was supposed to drop in only a few days, but I just saw that HHV is expecting them around the 20th instead. Either way you can pre-order a 2 x 7″ vinyl copy with beautiful artwork by painter Dan May and listen to another sneak preview.

Mister Eric Lau is at it again and is dropping his latest release at the end of this month. Peep this interview for “Makin’ Sound” to get an idea about his inspirations for the release and the production of some of the tracks. The LP can also be previewed in full now at the Kilawatt bandcamp page, and will be available to buy next Monday (27th Sep) from hhv.de, Fat Beats and Jazzy Sport. Fashionably late, but right on time we present to you the “Conversations With Her” EP. Now a lot of you got hip to Full Crate & Mar through us and it’s only logic that we support these guys like we have been doing from the get go. This soulful, soothing piece of music was something we’ve been looking forward to for a long time and finally it’s here. Thanks to Melting Pot Music for releasing this and hope to see a lot of you at the release party Saturday 23rd at the Bitterzoet in Amsterdam (more info after the jump).
Eric Roberson was so impressed with “She Was Fly” that he decided to record some slick vocals over it. That version is also on the EP, together with my favorite joint “Surreal Moments”.
