Another leak from KCRW‘s Mathieu Schreyer. This time it’s a track from a Raphael Saadiq‘s unreleased album “Pookie Blue Room”. You can read Mathieu’s inside story below.
“Back in 2004 Raphael Saadiq opened his studio doors to Spacek to produce an album for one of his sub labels. The album was supposed to be called “Pookie Blue Room” and features 10 songs produced by both Steve Spacek and Morgan Zarate with Raphael singing on all of them and featuring guest appearances by Common, Q-tip, Ledisi, Steve Spacek and Sir Bentley….anyhow the album was never completed and therefore never released…” [Shouts to DJ Rahdu and Mathieu Schreyer].

Another Tall Black Guy 7″ just came out via CrossTalk. It took a while, but finally “Mini Therapy Chops” is now available for the fans. Eventhough the B-side “Love The World” is a doozy. It seems only fitting to stream the A-side called “Sweet Europe” right?! Go buy a copy and support good hip hop music in the process!

Again this mysterious Austrian producer who goes by the name of Mez (aka Mezuian) is comin’ correct with two new production. First song is “Do For You” with vocalist Jonny Sass and my favorite of the two songs below. Second is a new song with Soia called “Mood Swings” which also sounds pretty nice. I think it’s time for Mez to step out of the darkness and into the light. This guy deserves some more shine! Oh and if you hurry you can snag both songs from his Soundcloud page as a free download.

Our buddy with the million dollar smile, Isaac Aesili, is soon to release a brand new single entitled “Dandilion”. He’s not alone on this one, since he’s releasing this together with Rachel Fraser under the collective name Funkommunity. This song was produced by fellow Kiwi Christoph El Truento while the b-side “Never Fading” was produced by Julien Dyne and Isaac together. Both songs are from their upcoming “Chequered Thoughts” album by the way. The 7″ is going to be released later this month via Wonderful Noise Japan so keep an eye out for that one! Oh
