For the past month I’ve been wondering about what Conya Doss‘ new “A Pocketful of Purpose” album would sound like. Six years ago I thought “Love Rain Down” was kinda nice and I remember bumping some of those songs from time to time. After having skimmed through her new album, I came to the conclusion it doesn’t sound very 2012 at all. There are a couple of nice soulful R&B joints on there, but nothing I might have been expecting a little more after all these years. For those that are looking to purchase some good ol’ R&B, please find your way to .

So the second volume of “Worldwide Family” dropped today after having been pushed back. I was in doubt whether or not we should post about this, but the verdict is…yes. Kutmah selected over 20 tracks for you to enjoy, ranging from FlyLo & Samiyam to HudMo & fLako. Overall not the illest compilation on Brownswood, but since I decided I’m flying out to LA again this summer Shash’U's “LA” convinced me. You can purchase the compilation on in case you were wondering. Shout out to all my fam in LA…imma be out there soon.

Toronto rapper D.O. (aka Defy the Odds) released his debut album, “The Northstarr”, back in 2007. Now there’s a few songs on there with fellow CanadianSlakah The Beatchild and “No Matter What” is definitely a slept on gem. Been bumping this for a few years, but on a Sunday like this one we have to share and care. In case you’re looking to buy some of this, make you way over to .
Oh dear, how could we almost forget about Scratcha DVA‘s “Pretty Ugly” album? It was released last month on Hyperdub Records and kind of slipped our ears so to speak. However this album is surely not to be slept on I tell ya. There’s a few hidden gems to be found on here featuring a bunch of incredibly talented artists such as Vikter Duplaix, Fatima, Muhsinah, Zaki Ibrahim, Natalie Maddix, Cornelia & AL. Below you’ll also find DVA’s latest video of “Why U Do”. Oh and head on over to if you’d like to purchase please.

Just realized that Hawthorne Headhunters‘ full-length album “Myriad of Now” released today on Plug Research. There’s some nice new music on here as well as some older stuff as well, I remember “Luv Galactic” finding it’s way to us a few years back and I could swear DaM-FunK had a feature on there as well. A song I hadn’t heard before, but immediatly stood out is “Sum People Don’t Change”. Thanks to the good people of Plug Research for giving away “Yellow Cougar” as a free download. Go ahead and buy the full-length album on , it’s pretty good.

Almost forgot about Kan Sano‘s “Bha” EP. Almost but not quite! After having put “Sweet Baby” featuring The Funkallero in our last “Glimmering Fractions” mix, how can I not tell you about his EP that came out yesterday? It sounds to me that Kan wanted to experiment a little on this EP, but you tell us what you think about it. It’s available on so take a gander for yourselves.

What can we say about Georgia Anne Muldrow‘s new album entitled “Seeds”? The single really had me wondering what more was to come. But when I listened to the rest of the album (fully produced by Madlib) last month, it didn’t feel all that magical to me. I might have had too high expectations perhaps. Not saying it’s a bad album, but it’s not incredibly dope either. Some nice tracks here and there, but that little snuff of magic is not there. Explore the album for yourself on , cuz you might find some of that magic.

Back in ’09 Griffi and Aqeel teamed up to form the Chacho Brodas duo. I remember I asked Del Palo Records for some promo material two years ago and received the “Date Cuenta” album in the mail. An absolut banger on there was “No Pares”, but for some reason I never managed to post it. That’s what Slept on Sundays are for right?! The albums is still available on in case you were wondering. Might wanna just kick back and enjoy this.

For those that bought Robert Glasper‘s “Black Radio” on CD, already knew about that other dope bonus track entitled “Fever” featuring Hindi Zahra. To be honest, we never bought the CD. I got myself a vinyl copy, so I almost missed out on that one. This also needs to be heard, it’s simply too good to just be on somebody’s CD. Of course we urge you to buy the CD, vinyl and hell even the digital version. Buy everything from Glasper is our opinion!
