Another year has passed us by again. For the thrird time we’re gonna end the year with our very own ‘Best of 2011′. Together with Nevill and Deluge, I’ve picked out some of the finest music that was released this year. Many thanks to all our visitors and of course the artists out there making music that matters. We wish you a blessed 2012 with loads of great music and make sure you go out with a blast!!
This man has kept hundreds of thousands of hiphop fans waiting and anticipating for years already and has yet to release an official project. It don’t matter though because Jay Electronica just dropped a new video via Okayplayer. The “Dimethyltryptamine” vid was shot in Kathmandu Nepal in the fall of 2009 and was directed by Jason Goldwatch and filmed by Decon. All this over Dilla’s “Phantom of the Synths”…just check this.
French hiphop producer Astronote has been making quite some noise these past few years. I remember his remix for Mayer Hawthorne, which was later included on the album and eversince I’ve been hearing banging beats here and there. Yesterday they dropped “Astromix” which includes a bunch of free downloads. Mostly original productions for Invincible, Marv Won, Ro Spit, LMNO, Magestik Legend, King Magnetic and Shawn Jackson. Also a couple of remixes and some previously unreleased exclusives as well. Listen to it, love it, hate it, share it…get it HERE! Alternative download link HERE.

After the Jay Electronica show we invite you to drop by the unofficial afterparty: MOOVMNT at MiNiBAR. It’s around the corner and our special guest Ben Westbeech is going to play a dope Hip Hop set for ya’ll. We just might be able to get him drunk enough to pick up the mic and sing a lil’ something live…who knows. It’s FREE entrance so drop on by and have a drink and laugh with us. Also little homie Deluge is celebrating his 28th birthday, so show some love and bring presents.

Tomorrow is the day that Appelsap presents: Jay Electronica at the Sugar Factory. For many Dutch heads it will be the first time they get to see one of Hip Hop’s most promising artists on a Dutch stage. Recently Jay dropped “Exhibit A” and “Exhibit C” on us, but honestly we didn’t need any more evidence. We already knew Jay was the truth after having heard joints like “Candyman” and “Hagler Demo”.

The line-up it sick so we had to post this Reflection Eternal“untitled” track featuring Jay Electronica, Mos Def and J. Cole. Now here is the CDQ version of “Just Begun” and the radio rip of “Holiday”..

If you haven’t bought his “Shafiq Husayn “Shafiq En’ A-Free-Ka” album, I advise you wake the f*ck up and buy it NOW! Thnx for this one Greg..

REPOST: Using “Love Czars” from their Nuclear Evolution album as inspiration, the SA-RA Creative Partners create “Love Czars II” exclusively for this release. This is not a remix (the music is completely different), and in a clash of heavyweight new schoolers, it features red hot MC/producer Jay Electronica and Ta’Raach on the mic. Also included is “Powder Bump”, a SA-RA track previously unavailable on vinyl.
Please note that this is a very special limited release with the music on one side and the Serato tone on the flip of some very pink vinyl! This is an official Serato Control Vinyl release which works as a conventional 12″ release on Side A, and is a Serato Control Vinyl release on Side B. ubiquity
