Kinda confusing, but I had heard this “Summer Nights” song somewhere before. Wasn’t quite sure where, but the homie Joe Kay told me he played it this summer when this dude Shen-7 sent it to him (it was a demo version at the time). A few weeks ago I came across it again this time uploaded by producer Tenka. I have no clue if Tenka produced it and then Shen-7 sang over it or if Shen is an alias, but it sounds hella fresh if you ask me. Mr Dibiase is an old head from the L.A beat scene who’s been doing his thing for over 10 years. His productions run from 8-bit classics to seductive soul to raw grungy bangers. “May The Force” falls into the latter of these styles and is an extra heavy, deeply compressed rocker which switches between a chop up of the Star Wars (Death Star) OST and a lofi rendition of the same piece.
