Dego’s solo debut “A Wha! Him Deh Pon” will finally be released on June 20th on 2000Black and to remind you all of the genius he has brought us he has enlisted the help of my man DJ Brainchild. Brainchild has compiled a great mix of both released as well as unreleased tracks by the man behind 4Hero and Silhouette Brown. Nothing more to say about this one… enjoy!

A five year interim since the first LP, but good things come to those those who wait. The production and song writing trilogy Bembe Segue, Kaidi Tatham, and Dego are joined by the unmistakable vocal sounds of Philadelphia’s Lady Alma. Alma appeared on countless club classics from Sylk130’s ‘When the Funk Hits The Fan’ to Soul Dahmma’s ‘Happy’ and 4hero’s ‘Hold it Down’. Soaring with a distinctive soulful voice from start to finish showing all her versatility and warm spirit, Alma delivers “Two” into a relaxed head-nod-soul-experience. Leaning toward a hip hop sound, ‘Get With It’ features Brand Nubian’s Sadat X under unity and progression. Dego and Kaidi push a warm sumptuous melody driven groove in a way that they only know how. Guest appearance of Musical Director Akwasi on ‘Strawberries In Vinegar’ an instant boogie anthem. Buy the new Silhouette Brown album HERE.

It’s been hectic here and we didn’t want to hit you guys with some corny ass Michael Jackson post. So we waited to bring you this beautiful Lady Alma & Mark de Clive-Lowe rework of “I Can’t Help It”. Lovely and suiting tribute to the king of pop. The entire MOOVMNT crew was a big Michael Jackson fan, so needles to say we too feel sad he passed away recently. You might remember we posted a snippet of this a while ago, but the final version is our way of paying homage to the world’s greatest…R.I.P.

Philadelphian singer Alma Horton aka Lady Alma is praised worldwide for appearances on songs by King Britt/Sylk130, 4Hero, Fanatix, Rednose Distrikt, DJ Spinna and many others. Later this year she is finally getting ready to drop her solo debut, for which she is teaming up with none other than Mark de Clive-Lowe. Having proved their chemistry in the past with tracks such as “Gotta Be A Way”, “Pressure” and “Running for Nothing” this surely is to be one of the most promising releases of 2009.
During their collaboration on Alma’s original solo debut “Running For Nothing”, which remains unreleased and features production by King Britt, James Poyser and Dego, the two recorded an incredible cover of Michael Jackson’s “I Can’t Help It”.
Mark de Clive-Lowe promises an official release of this tune later this year on yet another project they’re working on together, but for now you can enjoy the snippet below.
Also make sure you check out the remix he did for Yameen’s “Light Of Love”, which is now available on Traxsource and features Lady Alma on the vocals. Mashi also put up a very insightful “Making Of” video for this remix which you can check out here.

After many ground breaking compilations and sideline projects (”DKD” & “Silhouette Brown”) the sound of London Boogie arrives! Dego & Kaidi now revert to the “2000 Black” moniker for this new installment to their evergrowing collection of masterpieces. “A Next Set A Rockers” is a genre defying collection of studio recordings demonstrating all that has influenced 2000 Black. Soul, Funk and Boogie are revealed in the bands very own unique style. The labyrinth of 70’s synthesizers and drums create a lavish warm feel in contrast to the current digital age. “A Next Set A Rockers’ has been crafted by the production skills of 4hero’s Dego and Bugz In The Attic’s Kaidi Tatham. Tracks like “Febulous” drop hypnotic dancehall percussion laced under the warmest brazilian sound, in addition the duo’s dynamic sound is complemented by strong songs such as “Lost It” featuring the voice of Face, “So Right” with Ferraz, “Simple Sacrifice” sung by Nadine Charles, “Take It Back” with Rasiyah, plus Philadelphia’s Lady Alma on “Move Over”.
