It’s not often that I come across a new jazz artist that really captures me, but 28 year old London based Zara McFarlane definitely is one of them. Recently signed to Gilles Peterson’s Brownswood Recordings, Zara is releasing her full length LP “Until Tomorrow” on October 10th. Apart from tracks off the previously self released “Until Tomorrow EP” it includes new original material as well as 2 covers of tracks by the late Harry Whitaker. As said above the album is set to be released on October 10th, but you can pre order it here. For more on Zara McFarlane visit her Facebook page.

UK’s funk heavyweight ARP 101 has just released his latest “U/Groove” EP on Eglo Records and it’s a banger! This EP has a third track on there called “True” that I wanted you to hear. Some straight sick modern funk jams on this baby with those distinctive vocoder melodies. London is putting modern funk on the map with this release fo sho! Make sure you buy this one at your local vinyl spot or order it HERE via Rush Hour.

Wasn’t quite sure if I should post this one or not, but whenever something gives me goosebumps I just go with my gut feeling. London singer/songwriter/cellist Ayanna released her new EP entitled “Truthfully” yesterday. Honestly this sent chills down my spine even though it’s not a style of music I would normally listen to. Ayanna wrote and arranged all songs herself, but got a little help on the productional side from Marc Mac (4hero). The song that stood out for me was “Let Me Go” with Robert Mitchell on piano. This gorgeous EP is available HERE.

Quite weird we never did a post about Ben Jones before. Always knew he was responsible for some great productions, but I just discovered some new gems he produced. Hadn’t heard this Leon King song before that goes by the name of “Fresh”. What ever happened to Leon….where you at bro? Also hadn’t heard this crazy nice Ben Jones remix of Matti Roots‘ track “OCD” before. Don’t know if they are still in the demo-fase, but these need to find their way out into the world if you ask me!

I know I’m kinda late with this one, but I had to write something about this beautiful “Daybreak” album from London-based musician Hamish Balfour. It’s really an amazing Jazz album of trio pieces with guest vocals from Erik Rico and Tommy Ludgate on Hamster Records. I hope you all enjoy “Believe” just as much as I’m enjoying it right now. Go ahead and buy yourself a copy on Daybreak (feat. Erik Rico & Tommy Ludgate) - Hamish Balfour…it’s mad cheap!

London’s vocalist Stac returns with fifteen remixes on her new “Turn That Light Out: The Remixes/Vol. Two” album. Honestly I’m not feeling this remix album at all accept for Kidkanevil‘s remix that is. Might just be a London thing I’m not supposed to get or something. Anyways..didn’t want to keep this one song from you all, cuz I’m kinda digging her vocals with his production.
