Heard this “whorldwidewhack” EP from Hungarian beat maker Ypnotiq a few weeks back, but wasn’t really feeling it then. Luckily Luigi-Bo 87 made us check it a second time and I have to admit it sounds kinda nice. Solid remix from Kev Brown and you gotta love “Love” as well. Grab a high quality FREE DOWNLOAD and get widdit!

The vision for AFTA-1‘s latest “F O R M” release, was to transcend the idea of being a “producer” and really any title that we as creators limit ourselves to. True love for art lies in the freedom to exist and create freely through whatever medium feels right. To acknowledge that the only boundaries ever present, are the ones we put up ourselves. F O R M, like LOVE, is infinite. That being true, Manuel was inspired to create a piece of art inclusive of more than one sensory dimension. Something to see, something to touch, something to keep, a physical interpretation of the same LOVE energy that created the music. Enjoy, ▲❍▼❏ and BUY!

Wonderful Noise…for some a steady supplier of good music and for others a distant record label somewhere in Japan. Since I stumbled onto some upcoming goodies to be released in the near future, I decided to share some of this wonderful noise with you guys. The first being a 12″ by Opensouls featuring Ladi 6 called “Sweetlove” containing a bad ass Mabanua remix (one of Japans sickest upcoming producers). The original was produced by Julien Dyne and what a coincidence…he’s on the next wonderful project as well.
Erik L and Stray team up to form the duo Favorite Flava and it is this group that I was talking about. “LOVE” is the a-side of this upcoming 12″ and Julien Dyne delivers one heck of a remix. Watch for this to drop June 1st and this summer we can expect their “Different Phase” album.

This is what everybody’s been waiting for all year. Sexy soulstress Erykah Badu is back with a brand new album entitled “New Amerykah pt. 2: Return of the Ankh” and it’s hella good. She really got us worried when that joint with Lil Wayne leaked, but thank god that isn’t on the album. When “Window Seat” leaked I knew this was going to be like old times. Probably the best Nu-Soul album I’ve heard in a while and even if she did cover Sylvia Striplin‘s “You Can’t Turn Me Away”…it’s all good. Miss Erykah can get away with stuff like that, because she drops songs like “Love” and “Fall In Love” on Return of the Ankh. Been a long time since I’ve bought an album, but this is a birthday present I wouldn’t mind getting. Is there anyone who’s still looking to buy me a gift? It was my birthday yesterday and I am quite a nice guy. I suggest you start supporting wonderful music like this and BUY yourself a copy whether it be on CD, vinyl or

Build An Ark, the Los Angeles-based community of singers, and musicians, release their third album ‘Love’ – and their hearts just keep getting bigger.
Build An Ark return with their third album ‘Love’, and their growth – both in sound and players – shows no signs of stopping. This record is their meditation on love – its varying forms and moods, its ecstatic and soothing powers. Build An Ark, under the production of Carlos Niño, have made an album which flows with a real range of volume and density, with arrangements and configurations contrasting against each other. The group has still kept their organic sound while adding several more layers, and charting a distinct progression from their previous two albums.
While Build An Ark is all about the collective expression, there are some notable players, including Impulse! violinist Michael White, singers Mia Doi Todd and Diana Moriera, Tribe co-founder Phil Ranelin, poet Kamau Daaood, spiritual baritone Dwight Trible (The Life Force Trio), and tireless arranger Miguel Atwood-Ferguson, all under the guidance of production standard-bearer Carlos Niño. The sound of ‘Love’ is the sound of a family at one with the universe – and it comes straight from the heart. Jan. 18th, Build an Ark will be playing at the Paradiso in Amsterdam for a One off show. After this they will travel to London to play at the Redbull Broadcast night together with IG Culture. Kindred Spirits.

One of the west coast’s funkiest producers ever is still in the game after almost 20 years. It’s amazing how I remember DJ Quik‘s “Safe & Sound” album like it was yesterday. It was around that time I really got into hiphop so I can honestly say that was one of my first records I ever bought. Now 16 years later his brand new “Blaqkout” joint still got me kinda excited. If you heard the recent summer banger “Love” from Frank Nitt, than you’ll know why. Quik’s new album will be available worldwide as of today.

Ever since Motown moved to Los Angeles, sunshine and good vibes have been luring the Motor City’s most musically minded to make the same migration. Now, one of Detroit’s trustiest hip hop MCs, Frank Nitt (Frank’N'Dank), heads west to team up with producer Terrace Martin (Snoop Dogg’s Ego Trippin’), hot hookman J.Black, and Cali legend DJ Quik for the new Delicious Vinyl single: “Love”. A perfectly pitched summertime sizzler, “Love” is a celebration of devotion with the slinkiest synths since Zapp and plenty of bump for your swim trunks. Really looking forward to see the video which will be produced by 3shapemedia. Thanks to Delicious Vinyl and buy “Love” on iTunes.
