Another year has passed us by again. For the thrird time we’re gonna end the year with our very own ‘Best of 2011′. Together with Nevill and Deluge, I’ve picked out some of the finest music that was released this year. Many thanks to all our visitors and of course the artists out there making music that matters. We wish you a blessed 2012 with loads of great music and make sure you go out with a blast!!
It’s been a while since we posted a Paul Pre mix, but I thought it was a good idea to share his latest “1000 Fellas” mix. He made this one to celebrate the fact he has reached 1000 followers on Mixcloud. This one has a little bit of everything and sounds kinda smooth. Lets face it…can’t go wrong with two Thundercat songs right!?! Enjoy and make sure to follow Moovmnt as well as Paul Pre on Mixcloud for that sound you like.
It took quite some time, but finally mister Tony Ozier is back with some brand new ‘aural penetration’ for your ears. His new “BeatsGalore” Vol. 1 album contains a shitload of beats and a heap of interludes and some good ol’ Doo Doo Funk. Personally I would’ve liked to hear some more finished product, but hey that’s just me. All in all I think you should give this one a listen for yourself. Oh and let us know what you think about it.

Our love for vinyl runs deep and over the past 17 years I personally have been digging for the black crack. So when a good friend of ours Osmanology asked us to be involved with this vinyl only event in Rotterdam called Analog, we were naturally down. Vinyl might seem outdated to some, but when you hear a song being played from vinyl at a venue with great speakers you’ll understand why a lot of DJ’s still prefer using it. The sound is so much richer and warmer. Back in the days you’d go through stacks and stacks of records, in search of that one record you’ve been looking for for ages. Nevermind the dusty fingers…it was part of the job. Nowadays a simple Google search suffices for most.
Videographer NaNo shot and edited a sick ass promo video for the December edition of Analog at Rotterdam’s best record shop…Demonfuzz. It really shows that vinyl is so much much more than a carrier of sound. It’s a way of life, it’s fun and it’s crazy sexy. It’s been a long time coming, but it’s time now for us to take this to the streets. This Saturday we invite you all to come hang with us at de Unie in Rotterdam. We’ll be having an intimate get-together/early evening chillage with the SUPERBLENDERS and MOOVMNT as sound providers for the evening. Expect some of that Nu-soul, Hip Hop, Soultronica, Broken Beat, Boogie/Funk and a whole lot more funkyness for you to enjoy. Saturday August 8th ‘A Moovmnt with Nalden’ presents the finest beat makers our small country has to offer. Sixteen participants face off against eachother no holds bar! At the “Rooms of Red Bull” they will battle for the title ‘Red Bull Beat Champion’ off the Netherlands and 500 euros worth of prize money.
This year two of the most influential Dutch beat-minded hiphop blogs: Moovmnt.com and Nalden.net are hosting the Beat Battle at the Rooms of Red Bull event for the first time ever in the Netherlands. Our very own Belgian neighbour Lefto will be hosting the event and from 20:00 hours we will have an action-packed evening for you in store with beat makers like: FS Green, I.N.T, Louis Bordeaux, Bluntspeakers, Dyno, Hayzee, J83, Wan, Statik Music, Presto, Marcus Sebastian, Jay Bordeaux, Yskid and more. A handful of participants will be picked by means of a wildcard system and will be invited via Moovmnt.com and Nalden.net! So listen up all you Dutch beat makers…here’s what you have to do to get invited to compete against the cream of the crop.
1. Visit Moovmnt.com or Nalden.net 2. Start zippping a demo folder containing at least 2 or 3 battle beats 3. Send the .zip file or a link to the file to music@moovmnt.com 4. Don’t forget to add your name, email and phone number

To celebrate and promote the fact we’re organizing the Beat Battle at the Rooms of Red Bull (together with Nalden), we decided to ask djbroadcast if we could do a radioshow. A two hour Beat Special is what we decided to bless your ears with and you’re in for a special treat. Big man I.N.T (La Melodia) is going to be playing together with Deluge and MRP and me will be mixing together the other hour. Be sure to tune in to RBMA Radio from 18:00 till 20:00 hours (GMT+1).
