Yesterday I saw Mark de Clive-Lowe put up a sneak preview of his upcoming “Leaving This Planet” EP, but I was too tired to post. So I woke up this morning to find the EP in my inbox..so here is a sneak peak. Exclusively available as digital download via Mashi’s Bandcamp on Monday. This EP is a warm up for bigger things to come this summer in the form of the full length “Renegades” LP.

As warm up for the Red Bull Music Academy 2011 in Tokyo, UK Garage legend MJ Cole will be doing a free RBMA workshop during Amsterdam’s 5 Days Off event at Club Up (March 5th). A second artist might be confirmed later, but more info on the event on Facebook. All musicians can apply for this years RBMA untill April 4th, so don’t hesitate and fill out those forms!
On another note…MJ Cole is about to release his “Satellite” EP after the weekend and we just had to give you guys a little sneak peak in the form of this preview. Really liking this mellowed out Dubstep joint “Hawaii” with those subtle harp melodies we know to be his trademark.

Miss Amalia has both the Fonk as well as the looks. This beautiful female vocalist from Sweden (by way of Vancouver) is soon to drop her solo album “Art Slave” on Tokyo Dawn Records. Her better half, Opolopo, put some previews online so I wanted to share one with you entitled “All The Funk I Need”. Just got the entire album and it’s straight up bangin’. I’m not even playing around, because whenever Nev hits me back with ‘I didn’t know people still make music this good’ you know it’s serious. This will be one of those albums you won’t forget any time soon. Nice guest productions from Atjazz and last year’s RBMA participant Ad Bourke. So keep your ears on this lady…March 4th!

I’m going to keep this short. The most groundbreaking hiphop group in the nineties, A Tribe Called Quest, has been the epitomy of what hiphop music is supposed to sound like for many. Tribe’s groundbreaking fusion of jazz, art and borough lifestyle was on a whole other level and equaly interesting is the story what happened to them as a collective. If Tribe is not in your top 3 of alltime hiphop, there’s probably something wrong with you and you should see a doctor. Anyways…actor Michael Rapaport has been working on a documentary entitled “Beats, Rhymes and Life: The History of A Tribe Called Quest” and I know I’m psyched as fuck to see this. Somewhere in 20110 this hits the streets, so keep your eyes open for it!
Let us introduc to you…Cid Rim. This 25 year old Viennese producer and drummer takes on his fierce colleague The Clonious who you might remember from his debut album “Between the Dots” on Ubiquity last year. Both members of the Vienna based bandcollective JSBL go head to head on the adventurous “Full Nelson” EP releasing on Affine Records December 1st.

Jneiro Jarel just put a preview on Youtube entitled “See Them Cry” featuring Cilla K. This song is from his upcoming “Fauna” album on Kindred Spirits. I heard the vibe is very Brasil and that some special T-shirts are might be released as well. More info on this soon…
When miss Fatima (Eglo Fam) was in Rotterdam last year, I asked her which female vocalists she really liked. She told me that her half sister (who she met at a very late stage in her life) turned out to be a fantastic singer. I thought she was pulling my chain, but the plot thickens. Young Swedish Seinabo is actually a very dope vocalist and she’s getting ready to dazzle the world. Together with Frank Nobel she started a group called Def Chronic and here is a sneak preview of things to come. You know where you heard it first..let us know what you think of this upcoming project. Check out what Seinabo had to say her self.
Woke up early this morning, took a long walk home from my uncles house. Realized that it’s up to me and only me to become who I want to be. I need to get this show out of my head and on to a stage. So I decided to let you all hear what has been on store waiting for warmer days, decided to wear the summer dress even though some people still think it’s too cold outside, Ya feel me?!
These snippets are previews, the fruit of a week in January, me, Frank and a whole lot of coffee. It’s not properly mixed just yet, that’s why I’m calling it RAW. But soon enough it’s going to be READY, little 3 plus minutes soundtracks of our life’s. Downloadable, danceable, singalongable, viewable, funkable little keys to a dream. Get ready for the EP , DEF CRONIC oooweeee.
Finally a new release from Eric Lau named “Kilawatt: V2″. This is something I’ve anxiously been waiting for. His debut album “New Territories” came out almost two years ago and was undoubtably one of the most slept on albums of it’s time. Again Eric seems to amaze the sh*t out of my by dropping four preview tracks via his Bandcamp. Now usually I’m not used to loving every single track, but these four joints sound extremely promising! Haven’t heard Muhsinah sing like this in a while and Kaidi rips the shit out of this track. The track with Oddisee is also heavy as f*ck and reminds me of some good old Little Brother ish. In other words…better save up for Kilawatt: V2 cuz this is going to be one of those album you gotta have.
