We wanted to share Oddisee‘s video, because he once saw a man being eaten by a crocodile and because he describes the life of a RBMA participant very well. In 2011 Stereoptico is releasing some new music by Astro Hernandez, consisting out of Cohoba & n6el who are both ex RBMA alumni. The EP is called “Años Luz” and will be full of experimental dancefloor music, ranging from funk to house and from electro to smoked out boogie. This 25 year old Viennese producer and drummer takes on his fierce colleague The Clonious who you might remember from his debut album “Between the Dots” on Ubiquity last year. I remember Adam no. 2 aka Ad Bourke from when we met at the Red Bull Music Academy in London earlier this year. This is one very friendly and talented guy hailing from Rome, Italy. He was in the studio with Adam no. 1 (B. Bravo) and Jack (Space Dimension Controller) brewing up some nasty’ funk. Ad’s solo album “Mirage” is coming out November 22nd on Citinite and if you love that future funk, you’ll be all over this for sure. Sauce81, RLP and Kez YM thought the time was ripe for up and coming artists/producers/musicians based in Japan to get some worldwide recognition. Under the name of “Cosmopolyphonic” they are releasing a compilation album dedicated to the next generation beat makers from Japan as well as worldwide. It contains music from several RBMA alumni and Bass Camp people such as TOKiMONSTA, Pursuit Grooves, RLP, Kez YM,Daisuke Tanabe, Onra, mfp, Sarah Linhares, May Roosevelt, MONKEY_sequence.19, Super Smoky Soul, Pepin, Kan Sano and many more. Jack aka Space Dimension Controller turned 20 earlier this year at the Red Bull Music Academy in London and that’s where we met this leopard-print shirt wearing lad from Belfast. I can’t believe how fast this guy is blowing up and already having several releases out on Clone and R&S Rerords. His latest “Temporary Thrillz” release is a 6-track EP filled with tasty tunes. I never expected this to be so damn good, but when I heard “2EZ (Autopilot’s Lament)” I was immediatly sold. This guy is on some whole other level and goes from straight mellowed out space funk to a mix of jazz, house and all sorts of other music which I can’t really put my finger on. “Transatlantic Landing Bay” is just ridiculous and will be played as often as possible from my end. Jack freaks the f*ck out on the keys and goes into a funked out frenzy building up to a point of no return. In other words shit is bananas! It might not be your cup of tea, but for open-minded music lovers this is the bizness and I’m getting me a copy over at Rush Hour this week. Sorry for the late passs, but when we received the latest Swede:art release on Tokyo Dawn entitled “Emotional Colors Remixes” last week, we didn’t get a chance to put it online. Of course we took some time out to give it a good listen and I liked what I was hearing. Fellow ex-RBMA participants B. Bravo, Kidkanevil and TOKiMONSTA remix the shit out of Swede’s Emotional Colors project together with producers such as Comfort Fit, Devonwho, Ishfaq and Sam Irl. Buddy Bravo delivers that funk, but I didn’t expect anything less. Devon’s remix is also a banger so enjoy these 2 streams, because the CD doesn’t drop untill October 21st. Swedeart – Linguistics Ft.
