Nelson & Djosa are these two cats from Rotterdam who’ve been making music for quite a while now. Every now and then they drop a little bit of that funk and they did so again a few days back. With drums heavily influenced by James Mason, “Nibiru” is an amazingly refreshing outtake on modern day black music. Keep making this kind of music fellas, cuz I know this is what you guys love to make…music from the heart.

It was snowing, cold outside and slippery as hell. Nevertheless Rotterdam’s finest die-hard party people came out to the third edition of Analog and shit was on and popping. NaNo was there to capture all the joyous moments and gorgeous folks that came out to partay. Next year is the year that Analog Love will be spread throughout the globe so get ready for that warmth. Thank you Osmanology for another crackin’ vinyl-only party and on to the next!
Our love for vinyl runs deep and over the past 17 years I personally have been digging for the black crack. So when a good friend of ours Osmanology asked us to be involved with this vinyl only event in Rotterdam called Analog, we were naturally down. Vinyl might seem outdated to some, but when you hear a song being played from vinyl at a venue with great speakers you’ll understand why a lot of DJ’s still prefer using it. The sound is so much richer and warmer. Back in the days you’d go through stacks and stacks of records, in search of that one record you’ve been looking for for ages. Nevermind the dusty fingers…it was part of the job. Nowadays a simple Google search suffices for most.
Videographer NaNo shot and edited a sick ass promo video for the December edition of Analog at Rotterdam’s best record shop…Demonfuzz. It really shows that vinyl is so much much more than a carrier of sound. It’s a way of life, it’s fun and it’s crazy sexy. Come check out the next edition of Analog December 4th at Beat Burger in Rotterdam.
It’s an honour and a pleasure to be a part of something as good as BIRDFEST in Rotterdam. Three straight days of bands, film and a sick line-up of DJ’s all related to Jazz & Soul music. Thursday (Oct. 7th) you can enjoy the documentary Still Bill: The Movie plus the sounds of the Analog DJ’s (Miss D & Ozzi B). Friday (Oct. 8th) a Red Bull Music Academy Info Session with Norman Jay will take place followed by “Goodtimes: The Movie”.

We recorded this Stones Throw Special w/ Aloe Blacc at the Sound Gallery in Amsterdam yesterday. Got some nice exclusive joints in there so give it a listen. Aloe’s show tonight at Rotown Rotterdam has been sold out, so it’s gonna be hot & heavy. Big up to Stones Throw for bringing out so much good music over the years.
Crankin’ up that stereo…hey! Homegirl Fatima is looking lovely again in her latest “Warm Eyes” video. This one was produced by funklord Dam-Funk himself and I’m liking this video. Congratulations with your b-day as well miss and hope to catch you in Rotterdam again soon.
