You might remember us telling you about this kid Nangdo from the North of the Netherlands. He’s back with a batch of “Lost Beats” (2001-2006) that were on ice for years. So now these can be your for the package price of $1…bargain right? It contains 16 unreleased instrumental tracks all produced, arranged and mixed by Nangdo. On “Track 8″ SirOJ plays some additional keys as well so be sure you check out the beat tape over HERE.

Today would’ve been Dilla‘s birthday and it’s hard to imagine it has been almost five years already since his passing? Still Dilla‘s legacy lives on in many ways. Not only did B.Kyle release his “Still Shining” documentary…there’s more. Ma Dukes and The J Dilla Foundation recently announced the winner of ‘The International J Dilla Tribute Art Contest’. NY artist Joe Buck won the contest with his winning “J Dilla the SpeciaLIST” design. This signed, limited edition print, as well as special lithograph poster and t-shirt are exclusively available for sale at www.art4dilla.com. All proceeds will be donated to The J Dilla Foundation to help fund their ongoing programs.
Last, but not least all Dutch Dilla heads are welcome to join us at the “Dilla Lives” tribute event (flyer after the jump) at the Bitterzoet in Amsterdam this Sunday. DJ’s Turne, FS Green, SirOJ and Deluge (initiator) will be playing Dilla minded music all through the night and of course all proceeds go to the J Dilla Foundation as well. Raise it up!

SirOJ is back on the block and this time it’s “Castlevenia” that gets re-released on Organik Recordings together with the brand new b-side “Flip It Back”. If you can remember this 8-bit tune came out on the 1st Beat Dimensions compilation. The vinyl is the spring release of the ‘Four Seasons’ EP series which is released every year. Deluge and me just came back from Joya Mooi‘s album pre-listening party at MC. Late as usual we missed the whole shebang, but still got to chill with Full Crate, Mar, SirOJ, Joya, Yoji and miss Mountainwood for a minute. I had heard an early leak of “When I Take A Step Back” (produced by Presto) and was semi impressed at the time. After having heard the rest of the album I can truly say this…I’m a fan of miss Mooi! Not because she has the looks, not because she’s a nice person, but because I truly admire the way she comes across as an artist.
One of my favorites is the duet with Mar called “My Day”. Her debut album “Hard Melk” is a soundtrack for the new theater play BH and features almost every single Dutch producer you’d want on your album. Just to name a few: SirOJ, Presto, Hayzee, Wan, Dub Spensa and Crate who kinda put everything together musically. You can check out the entire album over HERE and view her video after the jump. Stussy & Stones Throw Records have partnered for Raph Rashid’s classic pic of J Dilla on a limited-edition Stussy Tee. This will be released Feb. 13, 2010 in White and Black, available on the Stones Throw website and Stussy locations. The photo was taken by Raph Rashid in Dilla’s L.A. dining room-turned-studio, summer 2005, for his book Behind The Beat: Hip-Hop Home Studios. Stussy & Stones Throw will also be announcing a multi-city in-store release parties for this shirts. Stay tuned for details.
