You might have noticed that BBE has been releasing some real quality compilations lately. One I’ve been looking forward to is this new “DJ Spinna presents: The Boogie Back” album that will be out November 24th. We uploaded the “Boogie Bundle Mix” to our Mixcloud and just like the “Strange Breaks & Mr. Thing Vol. II” you can give it a listen, before you decide to purchase it HERE. Here’s what BBE had to say about the compilation…
A cornerstone of Hip-Hop’s late 90′s indie-uprise, DJ Spinna made much of his first impression on listeners as the musical background of his group The Jigmastas (having released an impressive slew of 12″ singles on his then self-run label Beyond Real during this time) as well as providing the canvas for an array of that era’s lyrical giants. As an emcee in New York City, if you didn’t have a Spinna production under your belt, well, you just hadn’t accomplished all there was to accomplish. Everyone from Mos Def, Talib Kweli to Pharaohe Monch boasted Spinna beats to prove their worth to the scene. At the height of indie-kingpin Rawkus Records heyday, Spinna was in demand, also churning out timeless classics of the era from the likes of J-Live, Mr. Complex and The Polyrhythm Addicts (his all-too-brief collabo-group with Apani B., Shaabam Sadeeq and Complex). Spinna is back with his latest foray into the world of boogie.

Brothers Like and Mibbs and longtime friend BeYoung better known as Pacific Division have put together a relatable sound, full of charisma, fun rhymes, and deep ones as well. Their latest blendtape “Role Players” should be out this summer in preparation for their Major Label (Universal) debut, The Grown Kid Syndrome.
The man behind the Pac Div beats is Swiff D. Checkout these vids from The Red Bull Beat Battle in LA. Swiff produced for none other than Snoop Dogg, Nas, Redman, Talib Kweli, Styles P, Anthony Hamilton, & Rick Ross. Swiff’s SWIFFstrumentals Vol.1 will be dropping a few weeks before Pac Div’s debut LP. We will keep you posted on that on MoovmntDotCom.

Whoaaa! 9th wonder has done it again! Everybody was getting tired of him doing the same style of beats. But with the last tracks he’s done, including the Erykah Badu joint and this one, he has proven to be one of the illest most versatile producer. I expect a bright future for the man, and i bet Phonte & Big Pooh are real sorry they let him go, haha. By the way Jean Grae is on point again, in the video i saw a different appearence than i expected to see of her, but she brought it off real good, definitely our fav female mc.
BrandNewAndGoodForYou one for the homies, The Roots new album Rising Down will release within days and i’m listening to it now, thanks to AimeCain.
