Volume two in the LA loves Japan trilogy was compiled by Hashim B and is again intended to raise money for all the victims of the earthquake in the land of the rising sun. For just $10 you get a whopping 26-track comp with music from Grooveman Spot, TOKiMONSTA, Mabanua, RLP, Monkey_sequence19, MFP and many others. Took me a while to get my hands on “LA♥JPN♥LA” Vol. 2, but I can tell you it’s just as dope as “LA♥JPN♥LA” Vol. 1. It came out today and is available on the Japanese  and on Boomkat. Watch out for the third and final edition and please show some support.

I got this funny ass email from Mike Gao yesterday. He and the homie eLan dropped a sweet joint called “Withdrawn” on their Soundcloud last week and some Russian blog wrote the following.
“Mike Gao is a young Japanese producer in West Coast. It has been known that Mike has been very closely cooperating with Tokimonsta. Jennifer Lee aka TOKiMONSTA prefers to work late – or early, depending on how you look at it. Most of her music is made between two and seven in the morning, because at that time of night “my mind works in strange and mysterious ways”. Hence the title of this EP, a series of warm but decidedly woozy pieces of music, the soundtrack to the oddest, most beautiful dreams you’ve ever had. From the bouncing bass-beds of Bright Shadows, the Cocteau’s-meet-LA-Beat of Darkest (Dim) (like Little Pleasures, featuring the exquisite vocals of Gavin Turek), on into Moving Forward (which sounds like the music R2D2 makes love to), the driving, relentless beat of Day Job, this is an EP suffused with both warmth and creativity. Sorry for the late passs, but when we received the latest Swede:art release on Tokyo Dawn entitled “Emotional Colors Remixes” last week, we didn’t get a chance to put it online. Of course we took some time out to give it a good listen and I liked what I was hearing. Fellow ex-RBMA participants B. Bravo, Kidkanevil and TOKiMONSTA remix the shit out of Swede’s Emotional Colors project together with producers such as Comfort Fit, Devonwho, Ishfaq and Sam Irl. Buddy Bravo delivers that funk, but I didn’t expect anything less. Devon’s remix is also a banger so enjoy these 2 streams, because the CD doesn’t drop untill October 21st.
