If it hadn’t been for “Just Vybe” featuring the lovely miss Fatima, I probably would’ve never heard of UK Funky man DVA. Recently he announced his debut album, “Pretty Ugly”, is coming out in 2012 on Hyperdub Records, but before the end of the year he’ll be releasing a 12″ first. It will contain “Madness” featuring Vikter Duplaix (plus an instrumental version) and “Polyphonic Dreams” on the flipside. Also peep the video or pre-order at Rush Hour.

Oh boy oh boy oh boy! Sam aka Floating Points is returning November 21st with his “Shadows” EP on Eglo Records. I’ve truly fallen in love with this one song “Myrtle Avenue” featuring miss Fatima. It just sounds so incredibly sexy! The video for “Sais” is also pretty tight, so I suggest you peep that as well. The visuals were created live in realtime by Will Hurt as part of their live A/V collaboration. Already available for pre-order at Rush Hour!

Recently the good people from the Red Bull Music Academy uploaded some new video footage. We wanted to share Oddisee‘s video, because he once saw a man being eaten by a crocodile and because he describes the life of a RBMA participant very well. No rest for the wicked, just being in those studio’s all day and all night working together on music. All you gifted musicians…don’t forget to apply HERE.
Another fly ass video directed by Mr. Brainfeeder..Flying Lotus. Miss Erykah Badu‘s “Gone Baby, Don’t Be Long” released yesterday…and I think Steve did a great job.
I remember meeting Suff Daddy at the Hi-Hat Club release party last year and one thing became clear. This guy loves his alcohol, weed and beats. So in search of some quality “‘Gnac” (cognac for you designated drivers) Suff embarked on a journey to Prague. Before Melting Pot releases his new single (Feb. 25th), a limited 5 x 7″ Suff Daddy box inlcuding all five 7″ singles will be sold exclusively via the MPM Store. The box set releases Feb. 11th and to get ya’ll tipsy here is the premiere of a nice video Robert Winter and Typoclique put together.
Ethan Goldhammer just hit us with a crackin’ video treatment for an instrumental song he did called “Maxin’”. This is all part of a video EP/Album Ethan’s putting out, one track/vid at a time. There’s another one coming this weekend, so stay tuned!

No this video is not about adding more Nike shoes to your collection at all! The name “Morenike” (moe-re-knee-ke), in Yoruba means ‘I have found one to cherish’ and is usually bestowed upon a much sought after female child. Taken from Siji‘s sophomore album“Adesiji” this song has earned it’s own videoclip. Special mention should also be made of Laron Land’s brilliant horn arrangements (part Afro, part Jazz/big band swing), which helped to lend significant weight to the feel and mood of the song. The album is available via for those that haven’t bought it yet.
Last month we met up with Soulquarian Bilal after his show in Amsterdam (Paradiso) and behold the result. Our camera man Joao couldn’t make it, so me and Deluge decided to shoot the video ourselves on his Canon 550D. Big thank you for editing it though and I think it came out pretty nice, because Bilal goes pretty deep.
As you might know his album “Airtight’s Revenge” (Plug Research) is coming out in a month and today his first single “Restart” drops. Bilal is giving away the track on his website at http://www.plugresearch.com/bilal where fans can enter their email address to receive an immediate download. The single includes an instrumental version and a remix by Los Angeles experimental Brainfeeder producer Deadelus. Pre-order yourself a vinyl copy of the album HERE or if you’re more into CD’s you can get a copy over at Rush Hour or Amazon. Your digital hunger can be satisfied by visiting iTunes.
Aight…finally we can check out Invincible & Waajeed‘s “Detroit Summer” video. You saw the behind the scenes footage, the vinyl pressing footage and whatnot. The video also features the B-side joint “Emergence” which I’m personally not feeling quite as much as “Detroit Summer”. Okayplayer got the premiere on this one, so enjoy this El-lqaa directed video. You can buy the 7-inch for only $5 HERE or get the digital single through . Watch out for Invincible & Waajeed, cuz they will be dropping a full length album in 2011.
Frisco’s Low Limit is also known as one half of the formation Lazersword. What a coincidence I was just talking about these guys earlier today and I heard they have a new project coming up on Innovative Leisure. Sneak a peak HERE to see the artwork for their upcoming single “Batman”. Anyways…“Trapper Keeper” has been out for a minute, but the video was released a few days ago. No doubt Bryant is in the face melting business and this video proves it.
