We’ve been waiting for this one for ages, but it seems it has been pushed back a little. No matter, because it’s now widely available on and will also be pressed on wax. Most of you will remember Julien Dyne from his “Pins and Digits” EP from last year. Right before Christmas Julien is releasing his brand new “Glimpse” album on Wonderful Noise. We wrote a little something about the single several months ago in case you forgot. While Wonder Noise is taking care of the Asian side of business, BBE will be suplying the rest of the world. Rest assure there will be plenty of opportunities for you to get your grubby little hands on this release. This will be coming out on CD and digitally. A limited vinyl album sampler EP will drop somewhere in February via WN as well so keep your ear out! For now you can visit Japan and cop digitally.

A very important question we ask ourselves at times is ‘is there room for non-new music’ on the site. Occasionally it does happen, but today I decided why not?! Yes the biggest part of our selection will be brand new contemporary music, but why not post about some incredibly rare 80′s Soul and Boogie music that about to get reissued by the fellas at Now-Again Records? I really couldn’t find a good reason not to post about this “Close Connection” album from a cult New England ensemble called New World Generation. Just a few reason why you’d be smart to buy this on vinyl. The original will set you back a few C-notes if you find it. Secondly this release contains some previously unreleased songs plus alternate version and is now available at the Stones Throw shop for you purchasing pleasure.

For some reason Ho Tep releases always seem to elude us. Almost missed out on Dirg Gerner‘s brand new “Preface” EP that just came out. I’ve always suspected 1 particular fella to be this mysterious Dirg Gerner, but now I’m sure it’s him. The lovely miss Fatima blesses the downtempo soul joint called “Rubies & Diamonds” while Dirg himself sings on the incredible “My Queen”. The EP contains 5 breathtaking songs including a remix from fLako and this nice latin-influenced song featuring Rahel. A real must have for you vinyl heads so make sure you cop this one over at Boomkat!

I remember visiting London for the first time when I was just 14. Me and the homie Mr. Speak jumped on a plane and went digging for records mainly. Most of the record stores we visited then, don’t exist anymore. Happy to still have those memories though. That Reggae shop was one of my favorite spots that trip and Mr Bongo was located in the same building if I remember correctly.

A few months ago we got this promo CD in the mail and it slipped my mind that this “Shapes 11:01″ compilation was released last week. I remember this new Mark de Clive-Lowe song, “Push”, of his upcoming “Renegades” album being on there (also out on Tru Thoughts next month). It features Bembe Segue and Nia Andrews on the vocals. Paris representative Onra is proud to announce his next album release, “Chinoiseries Pt. 2″, dropping on November 15th on All City Records. For this project has been digging for Chinese and Vietnamese vinyl to create a themed instrumental hip-hip beat journey just like he did five years ago with the first volume.
